As of this morning PDGA site is updated NOT counting the mailed entries I have gotten, and there is less than 20 spots as of 8PM today(1/29/08 )

If you think you (or anyone else)have a shot at playing I would suggest getting in as I am NOT holding spots, and there will not be a wait list for this event due to making sure to have enough daylight to finish both rounds.

I look forward to seeing you there!

SEE THE GSSS THREAD stickied above in the Tournament thread here on the ADGO board on a post I made Jan 1st at 9:24 PM.

All the info is in that thread about the Series and sponsorships.

I created this thread to deal with the INAGURAL EVENT # 1 which is on the Crucible couse.

Hope to see you there!

I will give a full refund with notification to ME by Wednesday February 13th at 5pm.
After that time frame I will still give you the players package(as you already would have the players package code from when you signed up) and the rest of the entry fee and bonus money will go towards the division you are withdrawing from.

With the 5 people that have told me the "checks in the mail", there are only 8 spots left for the event

Keep checking here as it will be sold out by this weekend at this rate!

I am turning OFF online signup at 5PM today to make sure that the event does NOT go over 72 players.

If you have NOT spoken to me personally or gotten a response to an email from me on my AOL account, DO NOT send a check to me please, as I will NOT have a waitlist, and WILL NOT have more than 72 players entered.

The NEXT event is at Deerlick on March 29th ( 8 weeks from Saturday) and already has only 62 spots left.

Events around the state (and country) are filling faster every year, so please don't get left out if you wish to play!

Thanks for your help in making things work out!

Sorry to have to steal your thunder Mike, as of 4:30 pm

But I can't wait any longer to say SOLD OUT!

Thank you to everyone for making things run alot smoother, although
I think I'll just turn the online signup on for 1 week from now on, as 40 entries came in from last Thursday evening until 4:30 today.

I have already had several calls about a wait list and for this EVENT there will not be one due to time constraints. There MAY be waitlists for the other events.

There are only 60 spots left as of now for the DEERLICK Event on March 29th so PLEASE sign up soon if you are interseted in playing (especially the pros)
The Pro field doubled when there was 24 hours left until it sold out.

I would like to let you know, that I have and always will take first in - first served as I believe that the players who really WANT to play the event will make sure to get in and take part in the great payouts, players packages and the other amenties provided to the players at the events I run.

Payouts and other info will be posted soon. (one of the beauties of pre-registration 8) )

Thanks again and I'll see you in ATHENS!

Directions - http://www.athensdiscgolf.com/CrucibleDirections.html

Course Map - http://www.athensdiscgolf.com/course_long.html

The map may be off a little since they have changed the layout from time to time, but this should help out.

Just got confirmation that Sorrells Pit BBQ will be doing the lunch for the players at the Crucible to purchase.
They are the same ones that have provided the EXCELLENT BBQ for the last few Flying Eye tournaments.

They will be set-up and have the food hot and ready when we come off the course after the first round, so we'll be able to get the second round started with enough time to finish in the daylight!

They will also have veggie dogs and burgers available as well as drinks, so that no one has to hunt for lunch and worry about missing the start of the second round.

More news later about other goodies coming!

Also don't forget,
For the Georgia's Super Six Series there will be a chance to win a Chainstar Basket! Brand new still in the box!

At each event the basket will be set up for 1/2 hour before the players meeting, 1/2 half hour during lunch, and for 1/2 hour before the awards ceremony.

Each throw within a 10 foot circle from the basket will receive a ticket.

At each event's award ceremony, there will be 4 tickets drawn from the eligible tickets that will win an ESP disc. (You must be present to win.)

Those tickets will still be eligible to win the basket which will be given away at the Series Finale in Lake Russell (You do not need to be present to win.)

Price will be $1 per throw or 6 throws for $5. There is NO LIMIT to the tickets that can be won.

The course is temporary and private. Not sure if it will be open. It's usually open the day before tournaments but you will need permission and an escort to play.

Only 53 SPOTS LEFT for EVENT # 2

The Crucible course might be set up for doubles on Friday, but let's see what Doug says about being able to play it without having to pay for access or liability issues.
The PDGA insurance policy ONLY COVERS the park DURING the event, so they may not wish to have people on the land Friday. I'm hoping that people CAN play Friday, but I will not jeopardize losing this great course if the park says no.
I would hope everyone understands this.

Keep checking here for more info.

Only 2 Silver Sponsorships (which are for all of the entire Series 6 events) remain.

Only 49 spots left for event #2 at Deerlick March 29th

Also 1 less for the 3,4,5,and 6 events as Chris Senador signed up for all remaining!

Sign up soon and don't get left out of the others!

Here is an enticing idea:
If Event #2 sells out before Event #1 takes place, I'll add $100 EXTRA to EACH DIVISION playing in Event #2

For Event 1 it took only 1 WEEK to sell the last 40 spots, could it happen again?
My thought is if it wasn't the same weekend as Bowling Green AM weekend, that there would be less than 15 spots left today, as at least 20+ people playing in Event #1 are signed up for Bowling Green.

So what that means is that since alot of AMS will be in Bowling Green, the 14 Pros that have called since Event #1 filled, wanting a waitlist or to get in, can help fill up event #2 and not get shut out!

Thanks for all the support!

Only 45 spots left for event #2 at Deerlick March 29th
Sign up soon and don't get left out of the others!

Don't Forget!

UPDATE:
Still none of the 14 PROS signed up that wanted to play in event #1

Thanks for all the support!

I would like to give HUGE THANKS to Doug Porter, for his invaluable help in getting things needed for the Event together and to help make things run smoothly for all the players!
Also thanks to Jon Morgan and Jamey Tinch, for their behind the scenes work in helping to get the course ready, as well as being your guides NEXT Friday(the 15th) for anyone that wishes to practice or play doubles.
YOU MUST pay $2 per person on Friday to be on the course as that's the only way the Parks Dept. would let it be used on Friday.
PLEASE DO NOT skip paying the $2 as I do not wish to jeopardize our(disc golfers) chances of being able to use the course again because of lack of paying.

Not that I will do it, BUT if i did fill a no show spot,
if anyone was to be able to fill a spot for any player that misses checking in on the 16th, it would go to Jamey for his help at the Crucible.

Thanks again guys(and any other Athens faithful that have worked on the course), and I'll see everyone on the 16th!

Keith

The following players are NOT current with the PDGA at this point in time, and have NOT signed up with the $10 non-PDGA fee included.

You may Renew or Join as a new member through the ADGO club affliate link and save yourselves $8 on your PDGA membership, or you can pay me $10 CASH when you check-in at the Crucible.
Thanks in advance,
Keith

23126 Q Mayben
33173 Jon Morgan
NEW Mark Ross

If anyone that reads this message knows anyone on the list who doesn't frequent the board, would you kindly let them know.

You MUST sign up by 5pm Monday the 11th to be current for the tournament, or you can just pay the $10 non-member fee if you wish.

Thanks!

Thanks to Moose and ROCKSTAR for being the final Silver Sponsor

Thanks to everyone for their support to kick off the Series right!

One thing to let you all know is that there are Indvidual tee sign sponsorships for each event also available for $25, which gets you a laminated tee sign to have after the event as well as an added gift.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

I want to again thank Jon Morgan and Jamey Tinch, for their work in setting baskets and tee pads on the course this past Saturday!
They will also be there THIS Friday(the 15th) for anyone that wishes to practice or play doubles.
YOU MUST pay $2 per person on Friday to be on the course as that's the only way the Parks Dept. would let it be used on Friday.
PLEASE DO NOT skip paying the $2 as I do not wish to jeopardize our (disc golfers) chances of being able to use the course again because of lack of paying.

Again I reiterate this statement:
Not that I will do it, BUT if i did fill a no show spot,
if anyone was to be able to fill a spot for any player that misses checking in on the 16th, it would go to Jamey for his help at the Crucible.

He was out there today cutting up a HUGE pine tree that fell across 12's fairway. Thanks again!

On Saturday, Lorelei and I spent the day getting the course ready for everyone. You will notice ALOT of the logs, fallen trees and branches that were in the "fairways" and on the paths between the baskets and next tees are now gone. :D

ALL the tee areas for ALL division pools are flagged and the front corners spray painted with white paint.
Pool 1 will play from the tee pads, pool 2 from the BLUE TEE FLAGS, and pool 3 from the GREEN and Orange TEE FLAGS .
If you don't see your color flags or white paint where the tees are, you are in the wrong place. The tees that have 2 pools teeing from the same spot will have either a mat and blue flags, or both green and blue flags together at the teeing area.

All info including distances will be in the program that you will get at CHECK-IN Saturday morning.

The Basket Raffle shot is already set. You will be shooting at hole 5's basket from #1's Fairway between the 2 barns. Orange flags and white spray paint are 165 feet away and the 10 ft circle is painted on the ground so if anyone there on Friday wants to practice the shot, you may.
Remember that the prize is a CHAINSTAR BASKET worth over $400 that will be drawn for at the final event!
$1 per throw or 6 for $5 You must be all the way INSIDE the circle (not touching the line) and Lorelei's decision is FINAL. She will signal good or no good for each throw.
You can win as many tickets as you wish and there are also prizes being drawn for at each event from the tickets won at each event. Winners at each event will still be eligible to win the basket!

I'll see everyone on the 16th!

Confirmed with the BBQ folks today:
Plenty of food, veggie stuff, and drinks will be waiting for everyone when the round is finished. They will have people to take money and serve as well as cook, so the line should just move smoothly!

There should also be a port-o-john there for Saturday(hopefully Friday afternoon)

Is it Saturday yet?

everything is done and ready to go on this end, so I hope everyone brings their skills, and good attitudes to one of the nicest courses in the Southeast.

3 days left!

A gentle reminder to everyone that the times on the first post in this thread apply to ALL players, so PLEASE DON'T call me on Saturday morning with any begging to "wait" for you to get there.

At 8:30 (15 minutes after check-in ends), when the players meeting starts, unless someone can vouch that you are on the property, you will not be playing in the event, as time is crucial at this time of the year and it isn't fair to the golfers who are on time to suffer for those who are not.

There are several golfers playing my Events for the 1st time, and also making their 1st trip to the Crucible, which makes it imperative for everyone to be at the players meeting to go over all the necessary info.
This is the first time anyone except Doug has run a sanctioned event there, and some things are different for my events than what Doug does.
EVERYONE needs to be there so there is no one left wondering about any calls needing to be made on OB's or anything else that may be happening.

I am sure that everyone will come away from this Event having a good time if we all cooperate.

I look forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning!
