i'll definitely make this one! if there aren't enough advanced grandmaster enthusiasts registered (HELLO?, CANNON?!), i'll probably opt for pro open
masters. i'll sound like a broken record, and skip to this again. my good friend, Jeff Pierson, got the county to approve the land for a course back in '91 (i think), and i helped john david and a group of players dig, and plant, the anchor holes and anchors there. know it's a john david design?
honestly, i have not been back to oregon p. since '92, probably. a 15th year anniversary return seems in order!
thanks, cheryl and mike!

Is this a Sanctioned event or just an old school Ice Bowl for fun?

It's an old fashioned Ice Bowl

Postby Mhmusiclady » Wed Jan 23, 2008 2:36 pm

The entry needs to be mailed to: Sam Patton 479 Hardy Way, Hiram, GA 30141. To answer the question about the layout it will be 9 original and 9 new. Sorry the reply wasn't quicker. We are also raffling off a brand new 13" Sharp Flat Screen TV and a Toshiba DVD player, tickets are $2 or 3tickets for $5. Hope to see you there.

# of holes

Postby millayday » Tue Jan 29, 2008 8:13 pm

We've got the 9 original with 2 different tee pads each and at least 9 temp baskets with 2 tee pads each. So there will be at least 36 different holes to play. The tee pads will be of comparable difficulty, so its not like there's a short and a long course. We will play 2 different but equally challenging 18 hole layouts. The 9 new holes are very challenging, running along the creek and through some pretty wooded areas. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Hope to see a big turnout

Hey Buddy,

It's Cheryl here. Sounds like you got Oregon Park's
history down pretty good. Do you know
Cobb County's Tommy Young?
He actually set some of the
baskets in the ground
way back then.

I really look forward to seeing you
at the Ice Bowl. Mike and I will
be playing along with Angel,
our daughter.
Mark Cannon will be playing for sure.

We can't take credit for the Ice Bowl tho,
cuz, Sam Patton is TD-ing this one.
He has done a great job getting
all together for it too.

See ya over at the new
disc golf network that
Terry set up.

Hugs,
Cheryl Eldridge~

I am putting up a $100 Primo voucher as a ctp for a hole soon to be announced. This will be a great event with lots of ctp's, ace fund, and general fund raising for a good cause. We are fortunate to have THREE Ice Bowls in the Atlanta area this year, so let's make this one as successful as the previous two. Hope to see you there!

Had a great time today! Thank you Sam, Jason, Melanie, Mike, Mark, Jules, and all of the OP crew. Guess who's the proud owner of a new 13" LCD big screen and a dvd player!

Especially that Brandon guy...what was he doing throwing intermediate anyways?? ha! I kid, nice job Brandon, especially on the 2nd round!

Thanks again to the TD and crew...very much appreciated! :D
