We are now half way through the summer fall season. It has been great. We have had a good number of new players. They were instrumental in preparing JPM for Hotlanta. The Ace Fund is approaching $100. The next season starts mid¬-September. Make plans to join us then.

Next Season starts Oct 14th .

The purpose of the Southside Slackers league is to promote the sport of disc golf on Atlanta’s southern crescent. The rules and guidelines of the league are as follows:

Start time is 9:00am. Arrive 15 minutes early to resister.

Important: Since this is a handicap league you must play your first round on or before Oct. 28th, (on or before the third week.)
Payouts:
$5 all in, (See note below for details of weekly and final round payouts.)
$1 Ace pool optional. (See note below)
$3 for the CTP optional. (Three CTP’s. Hole 2 and two others to TBD at start of round.)

Note: This is a 12 week league. Each week $1 of the $5 “all in” money will be put aside for the final 13th round. (i.e. for final round payout: If there are 10 players each week for 12 weeks, and $1 is set aside from each player then the final round total payout will be $120. IMPORTANT: To qualify for the final 13th round a player must have played in 75% of the 12 weeks.

Averages and Handicap - How to Calculate a Golf Handicap"
This is a change from last season. An established player's (those who have played at least one game in one of the two previous seasons) handicap will be calculated as an average of the lowest five scores from your last 10 games. There is a limit of 18 on the handicap. There is a max 4 over par on any given hole. If a player threw more than 18 over par, 18 will be used to calculate that player’s handicap.
There will also be an adjustment to new players’ first three handicaps. (Note: a new player is someone who has not played at lease one round in the two previous seasons.) New players’ first two rounds will not be handicapped. After two rounds and up to round nine, a new player’s handicap will be an average of half of the lowest rounds. (i.e. If you have played six rounds, then on your seventh round your handicap will be an average of your lowest three previous rounds. On your eighth round your handicap will be calculated from the lowest scores three scores of the last seven rounds.) The purpose of these changes is to mitigate the impact of a beginner golfer's extremely high scores recorded in the first few rounds. This will add a level of fairness to the established players and encourage more experiences players to join us next season.
(In an attempt to be thorough I may have made this appear confusing. It is not. Just come and have fun.)
Please note that J.P. Mosley is normally par 61 unless hole 15 is on the long position, then it is par 62. Your average will be computed on the configuration of the course when you played it. We will try to keep this pin in the same position throughout an entire season.

The weekly payout will be paid out (approximately) to the top third of the field in an amount to TBD. The bonus round payout will be to the top half in an amount TBD. Details will be available before the beginning of each round after the close of sign in.
We hope to see you there.
