The Future World Champion will sponsor for the 9th consecutive year (2005-present) Same hole as always same deal - and I'll also kick in other goodies like always, as well as help before during and after - since I'm not playing it for the first time in 9 years.
I'll certainly miss my one time a year to play Sequoyah - Maybe you can play a round with me one weekend day Jay before the end of the year to keep my streak alive.

Count the Sasquatch in for that intermediate hole sponsor. Will also bring some other swag for grand prize and long putt depending on what I can scrounge up like last year.

Sorry Bobby, but it's not just feel good Events - it's EVERY competitive Event - Charity, to Majors - I won't be playing in them - as of the 30th of June - my Competitive Event play is done - just doubles at NGCT 3rd Sundays from now on.....

But as I have stated before on Disc Golf threads throughout the area - I'll still be around places helping out, designing, building and maintaining courses as well as still running Events - so you don't have to miss me, unless you really want to.

Big thanks to the Northside ATL Disc Golf Club for donating to the Grand Prize throw off!
Check them out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Northsid ... 4002657798

I also want to thank Rich McGraw for his cash donation to our cause. This is the first time he can't make the tournament since he started playing.

Remember to hit me up if you are donating weather your playing or not! The disc golf players are making a good impression with the Cherokee County Parks & Rec Superintendent as per my phone call with Steve Ralston this morning!

Thanks all!

Jay,

As a an added bonus to some lucky player, as fate would have it. I recently came across a lightly used version of the hottest Frisbee game sweeping the nation.

Kan Jam is not only one the hottest new games in the nation and prisons everywhere, it is possible one of the funniest double entendres ever invented.

Big thanks to Dustin Penwright for busting his butt this weekend at Sequoyah Park DGC. Still a few things that need to be done.

My goal is to have the baskets in place by Friday. Don Austin has the key, so if hes up to it they will be moved then. I'll keep ya posted on this.

I hope to have fall trimming/cleaning, signage, weedeating, logs cut up on some holes, etc, etc, by Friday the 15th. The last thing I will do is to string out the O/B on hole 14/15 the day before Thanksgiving.

Still needs some donations for the grand prize throw off.....y'all know how its done :) Peace!

Just got back from Sequoyah Park and the baskets have been moved to the tournament configuration.

On a side note, the parks dept have been out at the park working on some dead trees. They took one down on 7, 10, and 11. On hole 7 they took down the dead tree behind/right of the basket and didn't break any other trees but left some debris behind. We will get that cleaned up before the tourney. On 10 they dropped a dead one on the right landing area towards the fairway, so we will get that cleaned up as well. They also took out a dead tree on 11 on the left side half way up the hill.....they did clean that one up :)

Holes 1-4, 8-9, 11-14 & 18 are done. Will be working on 5,6,7,10,15,16,17 next week to have it all done by the 15th.......

The parks dept have granted my "special request" and will have it done before thanksgiving!!!!!!

Finished cleaning up the the Gauntlet, holes 15-18 yesterday with the help of Dustin. Still have some clean up to do on holes 5,6,7,10,11 from when the county dropped a few dead trees so I'm heading out again today.

Remember that I'm still looking for sponsors for the Grand Prize throw off. Sponsors will not get shut out so keep sending me the messages from here and FB.

Feels good to only walk the course with a bucket of signs, a drill, loppers, and a pole cutter!

Was able to clear the downed tree from Tiffany (hole 7) that landed across hole 5 buy the rocks. Aaron Arthur played thru at the perfect time as I was getting to be toast moving that nasty a$$ tree. Didn't even have to ask him for some help on what was left and he said...step back, I got this! Yeah come'on! Thanks Aaron!

Also got to speak with the county maintenance crew and asked them if they could at least cut up the 3 large trees at hole 10's landing area that are on the ground (one of them they cut down) so we can move it. The Supervisor said we didn't cut it up because the other two on the ground were not cut up. We shall see what they will do......

Pretty much the only things left is to clear the downed tree on the ground on btwn 5/7, hole 6, hole 10, and trim the fairway and uplift a few trees on hole 12!

Remember, sponsors don't get shut out :)

Great big thanks to Steve Nelson A.K.A. The Animal , for bringing his chainsaw out saturday. We were able to clean it up a bit in a nice orderly manner on hole 10. That chit was stressing me out! Pictures posted on our events page: 13th Annual Cold Snake Classic

https://www.facebook.com/events/670191173004772/

Also cut up the mess they left btwn hole 5 and 7, cleaned up 11's tee pad, and cut up down logs on 6.

Tomorrow will spend some time on:
Hole 12 Pro fairway
weedeating
contine to uplift new growth in flight paths

The County has ordered us some M10 gravel for Tee 1 & 13. I'm hoping they receive it in time for our tournament, if not we will have new carpet remnants standing by for in-claimant weather.

Pissssst - Sponsors don't get shut out!

Weather is perfect for disc golf practice today and weedeating leaves on a wooded disc golf course with 12-17 mph with swirling winds, high of 54 degrees at Sequoyah Park!

When I was a Barney in 2000 I was cleaning up the Sequoyah Park course around this same time of year with winds over 20 mph. This guy comes up to me on hole 6b and thanked me for the work on the course and how much he appreciates it. He also asked me why i'm not playing today.... I told him I was gonna play but it was to windy. He's like no, no, put the tools away and lets throw, you have to know how to play in the wind!

Needless to say I learned more about disc golf that day from this guy named Phil Arthur.

So I get to Sequoyah Park at noon today and head over to hole 6 for some uplifting and find 2 loads of schule on the edge of the woods by 6c's basket. I like what the heck and spent 30 minutes moving out of the way into the woods.

So I start uplifting trees on hole 6 and see that there a chunks of small trees/pine branches heading towards hole 7. I look down 7's fairway and there are 2 more piles in the fairway! So now I know that the county is is dumping there clean up on our clean fairways, WTH? Pack up my tools and went to find the workers that just lost me time. I educated the two workers that evidently didn't know any better and showed them were they can dump the clippings next time. GGMS! Uplifted hole 6 and went over and cleaned up the fairway hole 12 Pro. Looks awesome.

Meeting the Parks Superintendent at 8:30am at the park tomorrow morning as they got the M1 gravel I asked them to order. They are gonna place the gravel around the tees at 1 and 3!!!!!! Yeah, come-on!

It was a great day, with great people at the 13th Cold Snake Classic. It was so awesome that we sold out and not so awesome that we had to turn other players away.... The Sponsors and Players totally made this day, a very special one! We doubled our donation from last year by raising $1088.00. I have to say I am speechless and for that, I thank the players and the few that could not make the Tournament but still sponsored........ So on that note, I will post all the scores, ctp's, etc after work! I thank all of you for being so kind! Peace and see you next year!
