I'm glad you enjoyed it and thought it was fun too (it was easier to TD and easier performance wise as I got to ride around on a golf cart named Phillip Belt).

The short answer; I'm too lazy to run two events this year. Doubles will return someday, but I'm focussing on other things at Meeks Park right now...

We will have one round, BYOP unsanctioned doubles on Meeks Super Long on Saturday, March 9 at 3:00 pm for anyone that is interested and wants to practice the course. Very casual and details will develop based on what players would like. Play for cash, plastic, bragging rights, ctp's, and whatever we can come up with. So, if you are arriving in town on Saturday, this will be pretty fun, just not as PDGA official from a paperwork and monetary standpoint...

Thanks to our newest Tourney Sponsor at $100, Adam Toll aka "Couch" and Tollhouse, Inc. Couch has supported Meeks by playing for a while, but his legit business has sponsored big this year. Thanks!

Halfway full. A lot of new players, some old favorites, and let's hear it on Valentine's Day - a growing women's division!

Matt - Weren't the AM G-Masters originally set to play the short course twice?

VERMIN wrote:Matt - Weren't the AM G-Masters originally set to play the short course twice?

Hey Vern,

No, I haven't changed that part. The plan is short in the morning, long tees in the afternoon for GM and Intermediate. I have permission to use the alternate pins on #3 and #5 (second round only) and the alternate tee pad on hole 4 for the tourney.

I don't know what it feels like to be 50 yet, so I'm open for a change to short, short if pressured by all 8 of the GM. Keeping that in mind, I think Meeks short pads and then the longest course possible adds the most variety/fun/score separation to the day.

I'm a players' coach and respect my elders, so I'm open to the change. However, I would just eat a double bowl of Wheaties and bring it!

Please feel free to give me a call or keep me posted if you talk to others. I do plan to have this all in writing this year at check-in as I have learned not to be a minimalist when it comes to who plays what tees and such...

Mike I was messing with Matt - I am OK with short/long combo just as long as he doesn't change it from being a Super Class event....
Long/Long is for Pro or Advanced (hint :-P )

Matt - I don't know what 50 feels like either - I am using the PDGA birthday year loophole to play GMaster now. My goal is to play all of the divisions I qualify for this year. That means 7 right now but if my rating goes back under 900 it will make an even 8 and I don't know if that is a good or bad thing.

Can't wait for Meeks - woohoo!!

It's Saturday, snow on the ground, one week and a day until Meeks Madness 6. For reasons I will not disclose on a public forum, Meeks has been thrown a financial curve ball.

If anyone would like to sponsor a hole, please help out if you can. Also, our CFR discs are beautiful and perfect wall hangers or throwers, so bring $20 to buy a memory and support Georgia's mounatin course and the payout.

Waitlist reminder to go with the times changing:

Waitlist updated on top thread. No movement to date. A few have asked about showing up the day of: if people choose to drive up the day of hoping for a spot, I'll honor the waitlist first if applicable, then first-come first served. Waitlist will take priority. I won't go over 72 players. It's great to see the interest, and I wish we had more holes...

If any registered player is considering switching divisions or not playing, please communicate as early as possible if you are out there in the world reading this...

For break down on the GSSS points series this year, please visit http://supersixseries.com/

Thanks to Gator and Lorelei Johnson for the recent donations. More on that later...

Scores are up: http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/100390

I will submit the PDGA report by the Tuesday deadline, so the ratings will be included in the next update.

Thanks to all the players for their support! I hope everyone had a good time.

Highlights:

Keith Johnson and Family visit us to kick off the series as well as passing the torch to Wes Campbell.
Greg "Gator" Guttinger provided many players with memorable head wear.
Skinny Skinner got his first Open Cash (remember me young prodigy)
Lowest score of the day and tournament was shot by Ryan Kastle in the Advanced Division.
Braxton Lawrence was a 12 year old terror in a large recreational field.
Brett Porter kept things moving SMOOTH.
Mike Dammes donated a rare Prodigy prototype to help support GSSS.

With the ACE Fund and Bake Sale, we raised $271 for the National MS Foundation.

Thanks to all the players, donors, sponsors, and supporters. D-golfers are a generous bunch!
