We will just need tools to remove the top of the baskets. I'll bring a tool bag. But they have those security screws holding them together. Unless there's a special tool to remove them. I guess we use pliers.

With the security screws, I recommend vise grips. Anyone up for impromptu dubs at the Lick at 3:00. That should give us enough time to get the baskets rigged and we can test out the new chains! Not trying to cut into the honorable Mr. Ritger's action, but if you can make it, please do.

Good job by all today. The new chains are great. And my first ever round of doubles was awesome.

Thanks to Tim Bell, Gerald Brown, and Merritt and Darren Schatz all Deerlick baskets now have double chains and catch great. Huge thanks to the Schatz brothers for all their work at the Lick and special thanks to Pete Malinowski for donating the chains.

I know it's short notice, but we going to do a clean-up hour or so Saturday morning at 0800, after that depending on who show's up we can play a game or doubles if theres enough.

The tee pad may change on hole #5 and an additional basket location will be installed, as for hole #5a that uses the (old #6 tee pad) or Rec tee pad for hole #6 in tournaments, this will be up for this month’s blind draw doubles. It’s a short 175 ft with a double mando we will have temp basket in place about an hour before the round. A trail has been cut to walk from 5A to the back of hole #6.

Hole #6 tee pad is going to be built up and moved back about 20ft.

Hole 16, that’s going to get some length added to make it a better par 4 and not an easy birdie.

After we talked about getting a metal detector to find the alternate sleeve for #7. I go play today anf there's a guy with a metal detector. We spent about half an hour looking for it. But no luck. He's gonna come back. If somebody could mark where they think it might be, maybe we can find it. :?:

What was #8 is now #1. The whole course is rotated. This was a great idea. Plenty of parking with easy access. All the baskets have been re-numbered. And the tee signs have been updated with the new numbers. #16 is in the new even longer position. Darren and Merrit moved the short basket position on 18 (old 7). We'll move that basket once the cement has time to dry. The course is looking great. Good job by all.

You're welcome - even though it took 5 years to change it.

Although to be honest, I said to use hole old 9 as 1 and old 8 as 18, so there would be a great score separating hole for the final hole.
Can you imagine Tim Ellis, Mason Carruth, Philip Tyler-Belt and Dollar all tied up coming into that hole? All of them could reach it, all could throw OB, all could end up behind the bushes, and it could set up a great spectator lining the fairway hole to watch for the finish at the 2013 PPIC!!
Old 7 is not a great separator even in long.

Congrats on the changes and all the work done there by the Schatz's and Mr. Bell along with any others that helped to make Deer Lick better!

I guess there's not really enough room around old 7 for the 15 spectators that would be watching.

The new concrete pad at Hole 1 is the shizzle! The tree that was cut down on Hole 16 (by the tee pad) helps a lot! Thanks guys!
