Mystery disc was fun, but I felt a bit like a Barney at times! Once a season you got to do something different to change it up. Other ideas I came up with for this are:
1 Disc Challenge- play the whole course with 1 disc of your choice.
Ride the Zephyr- play with just Zephyrs.
Wild Card- each card in the deck represents the type of shot you must tee with, alls twos are backhands, jacks= rollers etc...
Set the course before anyone tees so that all players will have to execute the same shot on the same hole.
Odd Dog- Every player is an Odd Dog and gets 1 extra throw per hole if they want or need it.
Do It Again- Each player is given one chance to force each opposing player to remake a shot. Player challenged must remake the shot or they will have to play the second attempt. If the challenged player makes the shot, the challenger adds a stroke to his score. You can retrieve the disc to attempt the retry shot. Would be good to pair up with a Noonan round to add to the distractions!
Works- Side action bets for Clots, Dots, Fibs, and Mystery Skins. All players compete against the whole field. A Mystery Skins round could be fun just on its own too!
I suggest Week 6 of each season be set aside for one of these or some other unconventional night of golf.
