We will be playing on 40 acres of what used to be a lit up par 3 course within the Bowden Golf Course. We will not be playing on the ball course, yet! We will be using Innova DISCatcher Travelers for baskets. Don't be confused this ain't Claystone. The course will play between 6900 to 7900ft depending on which pins we use. Par ranges from 58 to 61. This is a beautiful track designed by Matt Dollar, Jason Makarovich, Rachel Conley, Brian Gordon and myself. Be prepared for briars, cactus and wind. Stay in the fair way and you will be fine.

Get there early so you can take advantage of the driving range

Online registration (http://www.pdgasignup.com/Qstore/Qstore ... 1321012618) or cash are the only two options for entry fee.

Please come and support our efforts to make Bowden great. December is a great time to play at Bowden, because it's not super hot and there's less cacti to deal with!

This course will be the future home of the GA State Championships. Come on down to your neighbor to the south for a day of good golf and great times!

The area has quite a few cacti around, most are small less than 6 inches in height. Thanks for the offer on the baskets. We have 18 DISCatcher Travelers that we set up each Sunday for play. I will be bringing an additional basket to put at the top of the driving range so folks can warm up.

Just a little sample of what's waiting for you at Bowden. This is the view from the #11 Tee.

We will be building "Bag Poles" for Bowden based on the design below. Our signs will list various Disc Golf Courses and the mileage to each course. Be one of the first 20 players to sign up and you can request your favorite/home course be included.

The pic doesn't quite do justice to hole 1! 400ft downhill all the way after you hit the gap! It's one of my favorite holes on the course!

I signed up for Pro to help build towards the added $100. I probably won't be able to play since I work almost every weekend but you never know.

I will see what I can do for added sponsorship. Give me a call $Dollar$.

Although unsanctioned and having only 1 Pro division - as it is a fundraiser, #70 will probably be there to check it out as well as I'd like to sponsor Hole 6 ONLY! (Players Hole Sponsor - $60 includes Entry fee into either division, a CFR, Tee Sign, 1st round grouping preference).

I can send a check if you like or give cash to Dollar at the Cold Snake Classic if you prefer.

1st round grouping preference is on Dollar's card as he usually plays like crap on my card and being only 1 division, it is a chance to stay close in score.

Who's in for the Killer B Long Distance CTP Contest? We are giving the winner an extra $25 on top of whatever the 50/50 jackpot is. That's cold, green, dirty cash my friends, just in time for Christmas.

We're also happy to be handling AM payout funny money. Buzz Bucks for the winners. 8)

I'm looking forward to meeting some more GA players and helping out at BOB. We just moved our pro shop down from MA to downtown Augusta, so stop in if you are in the area. We are less than 3 miles from PK, Riverview, Hippodrome, and Lake Olmstead.

We're trying out the online store thing with a handful of Killer B custom stamps and Vibram discs. Facebookers get 10 or 20% off Monday. Check it out.

Just picked up some sweet Gift Certificates for CTP's:

Everybody is in on these CTP's

Loco's = 4 @ $10,

Bearfoot Tavern = 2 @ $25, from http://www.hotplatesrestaurantgroup.com and can be used at any of their restaurants,

Dowtown Grill = 1 @ $25, (This is where you go get a steak when you come back to play Bowden at the GDGC)

Hummingbird Stage and Taproom = 2 @ $25,

I'm starting to think about what to bring to the tournament for AM payout & other disc golf Christmas shoppers. Let me know if you need anything specific and I'll see what I can do. I have Innova, Discraft, Latitude, Vibram, Discmania, Gateway putters, Fade and Innova bags, a couple Quad Shocks, calendars, the new star TeeDevils, Champion Archons, and Katana, and of course Killer B stamped discs and shirts (long & short) ... :)

And don't forget to practice your long distance CTP-ing. We are giving the winner of that contest an extra $25 on top of whatever you win!

CJ's Bar and Grill is going to be providing lunch at the course. I've asked that they be prepared to feed 50 people. Cost is $10 per person and you will get 2 BBQ sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans and brunswick stew. There will be tea as well. 100% of the funds go to the course!!!

This is a non-sanctioned tournament and if you want beer you will have to bring it with you. The club house is going through a change and the new operator will not be open at the time.

I-16 to Bowden Golf Club:

Take Exit #2, Coliseum Drive off of I16, driving east away from the downtown of Macon. Turn Right if you were headed North. Left if your headed South. Pass the Centreplex and Coliseum Hospital on your left. At the dead end (your looking at the funky church make a right at the light onto Emery Highway.)

Drive .08 miles and take a left at the light onto Jeffersonville Highway (Ocmulgee National Monument Park is on your right at the light).

Drive .09 miles on Jeffersonville Hwy to the light at Millerfield Road.

Take a left at the light and drive on Millerfield Road for 1.4 miles. Bowden Golf Club will be on your right, after the funeral home on your right, just before the next light.

DO NOT TRUST GOOGLE MAPS. It takes you behind the course where there is no entrance. The entrance is on Millerfield road.

You can also take exit 1 on I-16, and head east. Take a right onto Shurling drive and that will dead end into Millerfield Road. Take a right and the course entrance is 100ft on the left.

Fellas My best estimate is we will have around 50 players maybe a few more. If your planning on coming, and haven't let me know shoot me an email or message me here. This is shaping up to be one hell of a group with players from all over the State. Columbus club is coming strong. :D

We strung the out of bounds for Hole 15 today (sorry Vach no net) and found some bear tracks (I thought it was cool) She's ready for action, course not bear, well maybe her too.

Here's a preview, if you haven't already seen it to many times.

Thank you to everyone who participated and sponsored the Bombs over Bowden Disc Golf Tournament. You have no idea how much this means to me and our club. Our goal is to make Bowden a GEORGIA disc golf venue not just a Macon course. We raised $1,451.50 to go in the Course Fund. Which means we should be getting our baskets by March.

I'm working on the winner's list now and will post it asap.

How about Phil Arthur crushing those 750 foot bombs  :o down the driving range. SICK!!!

It's also pretty sweet to have a World Champ set the course record at 54. Par was 61.

I'm eager to get feed back from everyone who played the course. Message me please.

Thanks to everyone for all the work that went into making this tourney happen. I think all who played can agree that the land is perfectly suited for disc golf. At one point you asked for input regarding course design. I feel confident that the eventual permanent course will be designed to take advantage of everything the topography has to offer. I will save all my -brilliant- course design secrets for when my next opportunity to design a course comes my way. I will say I was impressed with the effort, and I had a lot of fun. Thanks for putting me in the fun group. Dax, Jason and JK are great players and easygoing.

First off, Thanks everyone for coming to Macon to support our efforts to get this course in the ground! Bowden played harder than I could have ever imagined. The strong and super cold wind really changed the difficulty level on most holes. I was always afraid that our design was too easy, but with a little help from mother nature it was a world-beater.

We definitely learned lots about which holes work, which holes don't, and which holes could use a little tweak to be better.

Thank you Keith, Phil, and Wade for some constructive criticism and ideas to make things better.

It's safe to say that the layout used Sunday will never be the same for another event. I am more convinced than ever that the Bowden Disc Golf course is going to be EPIC. The land is so perfect that there are hundreds of holes out there that we have never thought about. I believe in this course, and I hope that all of you do too, and will continue to support our efforts to make our dream a reality.

Thank you again, my disc golf friends.

Hey, how about the AM results? :)

It was great meeting everyone Sunday! Thanks for having us as your vendor. I may be demented, but I had a blast playing in that wind! There are some great holes out there and great potential for a kickass course. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for supporting Killer B before, during, and after the event! We look forward to helping out again. Other TDs: contact us if you'd like to have us at your next event. We're just getting started here at the Hive!

If you are going to be the Augusta area on New Year's Day, come play in Killer B Bowl Dubs at Patriots Park. Fun and cheap.

I posted a few pix and a quick recap of the day here: Killer B website
