The Battle of Stoney Hill - Sunday after USDGC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Sauls family invites you to join us on Sunday, October 9 in Newberry, SC for the Battle of Stoney Hill.

* One-day, Sunday-only tournament.
* PDGA Sanctioned
* SCDGO Points Series
* Free Camping
* One of South Carolina's highest-rated courses.

This is the Sunday after the USDGC, so you can join the gallery (or play, if you're lucky), then come out Sunday for a little (more) competitive golf. Or you can just come out Saturday to practice the course, join our non-sanctioned activites, or just camp out.

Visit our Stoney Hill website ( www.saulsinsurance.com/stoneyhill ), and click on the "Battle of Stoney Hill" link, for the flyer and much more information.

I highly recommend this tournament to all of you that have the time and resources to make it. This IS a championship level course that will test EVERY aspect of your game. Many elevation changes, twists and turns, water hazards and tight fairways as well as open bomber tracts make it a continuous mental challenge beyond anything that ATL has to offer, except maybe, just MAYBE Flyboy. With that said, it is still fun to play, the people are awesome and the cause is certainly worthy of the small donation.

It would be nice to see many more faces from ATL besides just that orange blimp. So, check it out, or are 'ya skeered?

Sign up now before it's too late. (Yeah, yeah, I know....)

Woody - please put everyone's name from Atlanta on the waitlist. We will let you know on 10/8/2011 around 11:59PM if we are coming. :lol:

But seriously ladies and germs - I digress - I have always heard great things about the action there and the Sauls Family hospitality.

This event is also a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Entry fees are low and the payouts will be low, but the fun and challenge will be off the charts. We're offering free lunches to all and plenty of CTP's. Come and help us reach our goal of raising over $1000 for A.M.H.

Non sanctioned singles on Saturday beginning at 4pm. $10 entry
Free camping and dinner party Saturday night.

The Columbia Disc Golf Club will be holding their club monthly at Stoney Hill this Saturday at 4pm in conjunction with our singles event that had already been planned. We will combine the two and everyone is welcome to attend. We will be playing the 20 hole quartz layout and expect a good turn out. $10 entry all divisions

Results have been posted.

We filled for the first time, then over filled and had 78 players all making there donation to charity and The American Heart Association. A cloudy sky and blustery winds greeted golfers from as far away as Alaska as the 2nd annual Battle of Stoney Hill took place this past Sunday. We had 78 winners and no losers on this special day. A very big thank you to everyone who attended and help us raise $1544 for A.M.H and to those who donated their winnings to this great cause. Somewhere, someone's dad, mother, child, aunt, cousin or friend had their life saved today thanks to donations like this to A.M.H. Everyone should be proud. See you next year!
