Registration is closed - if you have not signed up online or have already spoken to me - DO NOT SHOW UP SAT morning wanting to play. You will be turned away.

A Bonus GSSevenS Event will be taking place on OCT 15th and 16th, 2011

FORMAT CHANGE!! - SAT 2 rounds in 3 somes on SAT and 1 round on SUN.
As of now, since there is going to be less than 54 players, I will go ahead and change the format to 2 rounds of 3somes on SAT and 1 round on Sunday (NO FINAL 9)allowing everyone to be on the road by 2-3 pm at the latest after awards.

Event HQ will be at the Chicken Shack - I will have banners and signs set up at the turn so people will know to go there, as the main parking lot will be only for Zipline people as they have a full schedule this weekend with the leaves changing - as well as it's a long way from Event Central.

All Pools tee to a basket straight ahead downhill through the trees. In or beyond road is OB. To next tee turn right and follow trail to Hole 2 tees
Hole 2 280 / 225 ft Par 3
All Pools tee to a basket ahead slightly to the left. In or beyond road is OB. To next tee follow trail towards road turn right WITHOUT crossing road to Hole 3 wooden deck tee
Hole 3 190 ft Par 3
All Pools tee from wooden deck REC TEE to a basket downhill in front of the creek. Surrounded by water in or beyond creek in Hole 5 Fairway is OB. To next tee turn right 100 feet and follow dirt road to Hole 4 tees.
Hole 4 SAT “B” position 340 / 210 ft – SUN “A” position 365 / 235 ft PAR 3
(SAT) All Pools tee to a basket inside the tree line and uphill. Surrounded by water in or beyond creek in Hole 5 Fairway is OB. (SUN) All pools tee to a basket straight ahead. To next tee turn back and cross creek at bridge – On Hole 5 Pool 1 Tees from the wood deck next to the Windmill-Pool 2 tees from concrete pad.
Hole 5 555 / 375 ft Par 4

All Pools tee to a basket straight ahead then dogleg left through opening in trees and up 2 levels. Surrounded by water in or beyond creek in Hole 4 Fairway is OB. To next tee, follow sign to trail, then turn left and walk up trail to the #7 tees.
Hole 7 340 / 250 ft Par 3
All pools tee to a basket straight ahead and slightly uphill. To next tee follow sign and trail 70 ft to Hole 8 tee.

(think Lake Russell)

I'm pretty pumped for this one, just got out to the course today (haven't been out there since April and May) and its breaking in nicely. Everything about the course screams professionalism and tournament caliber. This could easily be one of the top dg complexes in the southeast before too long...and with the first PDGA event only 6 months after first opening, I'd say it's well on its way!

No - everyone will play 3 total rounds of 18 - PRO/ADV will play 1-9 on SAT and 10-18 on SUN with All other divisions playing 10-18 on SAT and 1-9 on SUN.

If weather issues change dramatically from 1 day to the next, I'll note it in the TD report, so ratings will be accurate.

Which is why I said I WOULD BE looking forward to seeing everyone excited to play and then kick back and relax - and didn't say I would be relaxing and kicking back. :mrgreen:

Although with staying overnight in a teepee and only playing 27 holes (the last 9 with tee times) each day - it will not be the hectic jam everything into 1 day 2rounds GSSS Event. :lol:

It is also not in a park - it is 300 acres of private property, with a par 61 Disc Golf Course (which has room for expansion) built onto it. :mrgreen:

There are only 7 camping spots left for FRI the 15th and 13 left for SAT the 16th, and the TeePees are all taken for both days.

If you wish to be able to camp there you need to book your campsite before they are gone.

Remember you can also order breakfast to be waiting for you SAT, SUN or both mornings when you check-in for camping.

With a little over 4 weeks to go - only 20 some people have signed up/said they were going to in the next few days.

I have not promoted the Event as heavily as usual, so I am hoping that players will sign up soon.

The owners are offering an Adventure Tour for one of the players that will be one of the 50/50 raffle prizes.

The place will be groomed and the leaves should be changing colors making for some outstanding views, so please sign up and join us for a great time in the fall.

I would love to play this tournament, and had planned to, for quite a while, but it's just not going to work out this year. I've already done 3 2-day tournys this year and have PPIC on the horizon. I also need to go camping soon with the family when I'm NOT mostly away playing DG.

Where are all the PRO players and ADV players that are always begging for a course with par 4's and 5's that has open bombing holes and fair fairways in the woods?

NGCT is a par 61 with 5 par 4's and a legit par 5 that offers all the golf you have been looking for without having to kill you with 2 rounds in one day.

On SAT all players will play 18 holes, then we will break for lunch and after lunch PRO / ADV players will tee off starting on hole 1 with tee times stopping after HOLE 9 - with all other divisions teeing off on hole 10 stopping on Hole 18 with tee times.

On SUN all players will play 18 holes, then we will break for lunch and after lunch PRO / ADV players will tee off starting on hole 10 finishing on HOLE 18 with tee times - with all other divisions teeing off on hole 1 finishing on HOLE 9 with tee times.

Every competitor will play 3 rounds total, but will have the time to enjoy the fall foliage scenery and to recharge the batteries (the better you play obviously gives you more time to enjoy) :mrgreen:

OK - here is a deal for Dollar and any other PRO OPEN players (which the long tees are designed for) - I'll move into Open, and I'll make 1st place $250 minimum - and for every multiple of 5 players, add $50 to 1st place - so if there are 5 players it will be $300 for 1st, for 10 players it would be $350 for 1st, etc.

It could be the easier money you ever made - if you could beat a 903 rated, and 953 rated player over 54 holes. :mrgreen:

There are a few lunch options for this weekend.
There is a deli / diner that can deliver lunch if ordered in the morning, as well as a Subway and other options a few miles away in Lula.

Lake Russell is the only one that NEVER changes dates - it has always been the weekend AFTER Labor Day since long before I moved here and started running it - next year will be the 5th year as part of the GSSS and the 14th Annual Lake Russell Open

Number 4,000 couldn't go to a better guy - and by the way, I had no idea I was even close to 4,000 on this version of the website - In reality on all 3 of the ADGO versions since I moved here, I'm probably closer to 5 or 6 thousand. :mrgreen:

Sorry you can't make it, but you'll have another chance in 2012 after Meeks Madness - as on the 17th of March 2012 GSSS'12 debuts it's final season.
No more running Feburary Events for me - mother nature just never cooperates with the FEB Events. :shock:

I didn't see the location of tournament central listed in the first post. Will it be at the zip line hq or near the chicken house as I thought I remember you saying at some point? Thanks!

Event HQ will be at the Chicken Shack - I will have banners and signs set up at the turn so people will know to go there, as the main parking lot will be only for Zipline people as they have a full schedule this weekend with the leaves changing - as well as it's a long way from Event Central.

We reached 10 pros as it is - so I'll put $350 for 1st as promised and I'll pay 5 of 8 that will remain - but myself and Aaron Saft will probably move out - myself to Masters (unless Jordy and Brett want to move into Open and make it a 12 person division paying 6 with $400 to 1st) and Aaron moving to Advanced per earlier decisions that were subject to change after the registration closed.

Yeah - Leigh Smith called at 9 this morning and is driving up with the Savannah guys - he originally was going to come, then couldn't make it, and now is able to - so he is good to go. - I'm leaving in a little bit will be up there this afternoon with spotty cellm service and no computer access.

3rd overall score Mark - 3 1000 rated rounds - first time I've done that since I won the Halloween Event over 21 players last year in Vegas - It's also the first time a course I put lots of man hours into that I didn't finish out of the cash in years - thanks for the congrats!

Big thanks to Keith and family for their hard work. This course is AWESOME. It's easily the best new course in GA since Flyboy, and definitely one of the Top 5 in the state. One Event here per year would not be nearly enough!

If you have NOT played it, you ARE missing out! I will be back as often as possible.

see the thing about you guys is you want to get birdies on holes too. but you shouldn't be, therefore if you were to desgin a course you would make it so you could get a birdie on the hole. and that would be wrong because people like myself would never get a bogey and probably hardly ever get a 3. in ball golf do you get a 2 in every round you play. my guess is no so therefore you suck in someones eyes that plays that sport well. and no professional ball golfer is ever going to want you to design a course. no offense i mean theres alot of things i suck at. like life
