Make sure that the shirts say disc golf on them somewhere. It is a cool logo - I get more questions from strangers about shirts that actually say disc golf on them somewhere. It is a good way to promote the sport.

Nothing says disc golf like "DISC GOLF". :)

To put your mind at ease under GDGO it says "Gwinnett Disc Golf Organization"

just want to tell everyone online registration closes July 23rd. If possible please register before this date. All TD's know it gets a bit ridiculous when everyone wants to sign up day of tourney. Thank you everyone that has signed up already!

online sign ups were going for a moth now man! of course you can still get in, and the reason why i had the registration closed down early is because last year we did not get the check from the online company in time so we had to use other funds. I'm sorry if i hurt your feelings when i closed it early but that what i chose to do at the time. send me a message with your info name, what division and i will get you a spot.

Thanks

Actually, closing online registration 1to 2 weeks prior to the event is the norm for just about every tournament. As Greg said, the TD has to allow the online company time to send a check to him/her or the TD will have to do payout from his own funds.

Well I must admit this will only be my 5th tourney and every one before this the registration was open til the Wednesday before that weekend. I apologize for my lack of knowledge on what it takes to be a TD. Greg is a super stand up guy and let me in and I appreciate that. He also runs the best dubs this side if the mason-dixon line!!!

Thanks Greg. You rock dude!!

10 foot island circle....wow Bryan...why don't you make it the broad side of a barn.

What Mr. Pothier is alluding to is that Hole 1 will be completely transformed come Saturday. Everything but the tee box and basket will be surrounded by a moat of molten hot magma. You might think the basket and tee box would melt under the temperatures of the lava but Greg has the ability to suspend the law of physics for this tournament. A special permit was granted to him by MC Stephen Hawkings. Your only chance to card a decent score on this hole will be to ace the basket right off the tee box. Discs that land in the liquid fire will be lost for eternity or until the lift the ban on Derek to dive for them using his flam retardant speedo. Successful shots into the basket can be retrieved via the newly installed Vietnam area Pibber retro fitted with asbestos and lead-based paint. The boat will skippered by no other than Steve Irwin selling his custom stamped CFR Stingrays. Competitors failing to land a disc inside the basket after ten throws will be immediately pushed into the lava by the next player waiting to tee off. The deceased will receive a DNF for the tournament and all remaining discs in their bag will be divided among the competitors at the award ceremony.

Everything is all set for tourney tomorrow. could not get the lava so we just sprayed a circle instead, sorry to let everyone down. I did order a bit of sun, rain, wind, and heat for tomorrow. I would like to get most of the elements in one tourney. To me that is a real test of skill :D SEE YOU TOMORROW!!

whooo weeee...

a few of us decided to test out the 'island" in some serious wind this evening...
I think out of a 50+ shots from the blues... only like 7 made it in...
Of course there was a hellish left to right/tailwind at around 25+mph...

If conditions are anything like that tomorrow, #1 is going to be one hell of a hole...

It took some time to decipher the scorecards for the results. I should have taken the board cards.

Please check your scores and post a comment if I need to check something again.
