New view from #1 teepad

Postby Steve Adams » Mon Feb 14, 2011 12:50 pm

Does anyone know when all the schule between hole #1 teepad and the fairway was cut down. The trees are still there, but all the underbrush has been removed. It looks very different from up there now.

Invalid, you actually have to play moseley to know how many go there. There may be lots of people at Redan, but there's more that attend Alexander on a daily basis.
Usually, a challenging course doesn't have as much attendants because they'd rather play a course that allows them to shoot within their skill level.
A course like Redan will always have players, even with all the negatives that are attached.

Moseley gets busier and busier as days go by. Lots of barnies with one disc too. I'd prefer they stay out at Redan personally. Keeps the cigarette butts off of the grass and the beer cans out of the trash cans if you know what I mean.

The baskets at Redan need to find their way to a more hospitable piece of Dekalb. Like say Arabia Mountain or Stone Mountain instead.

Anyone who knows me knows I love Redan. But then again its been awhile...I'm suprised its still there.

Hole one looks almost completely different. My wife and Barley had a good time out at Redan on Sunday. Lots of foot traffic with other Barneys out there. I must say Redan has gotten better than the last couple of years.

I notice good traffic when I am at Redan. It does surprise me with as many courses as there are to play now.
I met a local this Sunday who said he and his friends come out regularly during the week.
I let him know about Nut doubles and he was enthused. It would be nice to have more locals involved.

Dan - We had over 20 players for round #1 on Sunday and 17 for round #2.
Steve Adams aced #11. Sweet weather. The course was lovely. Still no Wapow sightings.
We picked up trash and butts during play. Spring clean-up soon.

The work on hole #1 should help speed play during a tourney.

Pnut, Vach and the short haired yeti did some maintenance and trash can emptying today. Nice!

And cut two frozen locks off, 3&8, and filled the sinkhole on 4 and cleaned out the shule in front of the pad on 17.
Dave E. stopped by for a few and helped move some lumber.

Redan is at peace again.

Wish I could have been there. Alas my life has definetly kept me busy.

One day I will return to the course that helped me fall in love with Atlanta disc golf...allthough Atlanta disc golf is still a little bit less without a Wapow.

4 of us drove up Saturday after checking out the ATL Open action at Mosely. Was pleased with the new look on #1 and the course was clean and looking good. There were several groups on the course. We had a great time. Someone please have another Redan/JP Mosely tournament!!!!

There is a huge tree down, covering the shared extra long positions for 12 and 6 from the storm Saturday. It snapped a "smaller" pine like it was a toothpick. Plus a lot of debris all over the course. Lucky Pnut moved that basket from extra long 12 about a week earlier! It would be mashed. Good job Pnut, now get out there and clean it up you big bear!!

Played redan with DD on Sunday - it is still the best perm course in the metro area. I really enjoy playing there - great mix of holes. I just wish it were closer.

It feels better to declare your love of Redan and get it out in the open.

Some douche took a marker to all the signs recently, benches, etc.
