New Championship Disc Golf Course - Amenities???

Postby IMPRESARIO » Tue Apr 12, 2011 12:07 pm

What amenities would you want at a Championship Disc Golf Course?

Were in the process of developing 30 acres of an old Par 3 course in Macon and want to make sure we put everything in the plan that is needed to make this one of the best experiences you can have in Georgia.

So let us know what you like, what makes a course your favorite? We will have a club house and pro shop. We will even have a beer cart. Please include pictures of benchs you like or poles for hanging your bags on? (That's right Randy I said pictures.)

Where you can't wait to get to the next hole, Like at jp Mosley i get fired up for holes #8 and #9. And tee pads flush to the ground and long so your not standing with on foot off the back of the tee in the grass. I think most people put their
bag on the bench or on the ground.

It's nice to have the shelters over the benches at tee pads that are in the open such as Moseley has.
Fart, it's never not funny!

Keep the suggestions coming... Are brooms important? Have you ever seen a course where the brooms weren't destroyed?

Anyone who would like to take a look at the property can go to Google Earth or Google Maps. Type in Bowden Golf Course Macon Georgia, Zoom in, The Disc Golf course is going in the area that is NE of the Map Marker for the coursee.

-Mach III DGA baskets. They don't rust like disc catchers and where else can you get a basket with a 20 year guarentee?
-Concrete teepads
-benches and trashcans a plenty
-rain shelters help
-a drinkable water source
-great tee signs and directional signage
Johnson! Keep an eye on that Kherplakistan situation...

After meeting with City Council and the Parks & Rec department. It's not going to be just a couple of weeks, more like a couple of months. Our plan is to get some data on scores and to check the flow with a few XC tournaments. I'll be certain to let you know when we open it up for play.

Expecting the price to be $3 - $5 to play all day. I told him that I think this is okay once we have all the amenities in place.
