Could we get a course description or something? This place is an utter mystery to most. I am not looking for hole by hole or anything but just an idea of the terrain, overall length...maybe compare to local courses...

Does the second rule involve looking at a course map per chance? :D

The course is at the edge of mountains and is a great mix of long shots and shorter technical shots that are wooded and open. Beautiful land and fun to play. Play it and find out like the people at the inaugural tourney did. I don't think there is a course map and even if there was, it wouldn't give you the true idea of how this course plays.

I don't know if Wes is allowing camping or not, but there's this sweet motel about 5 miles from the course with a Schlitz sign over the restaurant/bar.

I would like to play in the doubles event that Saturday but I cannot justify driving home and then driving back the next morning. RE: cost of gas and time.

I am looking for someone either to loan me a couch or floorspace who lives in the area, or someone who is willing to split the cost of a hotel room (RE: economy). If someone is willing to split the hotel room with me I do request that they be completely non-smoking and that they refrain from drinking too much. Thanks.

Dang it Greg-Im being serious. Although being a cat lover couldn't hurt.

I really am looking for a place to crash so I don't have a 2-3 hour drive the morning of the tournament. Anyone want to split a hotel room? I am serious about the non-smoking part...but might bend on the drinking part as long as there is not a party in the room at 12am.

Parking is off the road in a field. Nothing to treacherous. When you come in the main gate take an immediate left and the parking lot will be marked with yellow tape. It is also ok to park on the side of the road.

I EXACTLY predicted the ratings at the course for all the people asking what the ratings would be for the lowest score and for what course par was as well as the 66 that Bob Braun shot and was curious about.

Keep in mind for the REC divisions until the ratings come out in JULY, that there isn't enough propagators to calculate unofficial ratings - hopefully as more REC palyers are now becoming PDGA Members and playing more Events, this will not be the case by the end of the year.

Thanks to WES's Dad for all the hard work he put in on the tractor and mower to make the place look nice for the Event, and to the WHOLE Campbell family, for coming out to help out Wes with his Inagural Event. It's just too bad that we didn't keep the nice early week temps, and that 18 more people missed out on one nice course.

Lastly, the players that had the great BBQ and dogs that was ccoking while we played will vouch that it was some outstanding food.

The BBQ people WILL BE returning for the GSSS Event in JULY for those that want to get some more!

It seemed like everyone had a good time, no matter their scores, and the Ace fund was donated to MR. Campbell for all of his work on the beautiful property he owns.

Some stats from the scorecards....

Rec played shorter tees on 2 of the 3 par 4's and on both par 5's (still par 4 and 5 except hole 11 which was a 4 for REC and 5 for other divisions)
On hole 2 scoring spreads followed the same for all divisions with 3-8 (a Par 4 dogleg needing a well placed drive to have a shot at the birdie 3)
12 of the 54 players birdied the hole during the 2 rounds.

Hole 6 a par 5 hole had only 4 players birdie it both rounds and had scores of 4-7 for all divisions

Hole 11 a par 5 (gradual uphill the entire fairway hole that also narrows as it reaches the top) had scores of 4-7 for REC who teed off from a position bypassing the intial tight gap at the start to the hole. The other divisions scored 4-9 on the hole.

Hole 18 (a par 4 hole that finishes in the woods after throwing across a field with some well placed trees) had scores ranging from 3- 6 for all other divisions and 3-7 for the REC division.

Hole 16 is the downhill barely par 4 hole with the view of the mountains in the distance and it was decided to only have one tee with all divisions playing from the same tee as it is too nice a view to not let everyone experience it. There was one 2 by Greg Guttinger in the first round and other scores ranged from 3-6.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the property and course even in the 90 degree heat.

Wes will post sometime in the future with more info.

Good info Keith.

I'm amused that I had both the 3 and the 7 on hole 18 in REC...Thankfully not in that order.

Any idea why there are no round ratings for this tournament on the PDGA site?

The PDGA usually takes down the unofficial ratings several weeks prior to making them official. You will see them again once the next ratings update occurs on July 12th.
