Would you watch this?

Postby CD10 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 11:35 am

I’m looking at making videos similar to this one by giving a course tour while throwing the perfect round. I started at the short Chamblee course to see how it would work out. Let me know what you think.

I plan on doing the new Wills layout soon. Next time the holes will be in order.

Just finished the Red Tees. Still working on the camera work so dont be too harsh.

I also like the idea. I think it would be really fun to watch this on a sweet course or a really hard course.

My plan is to have a video similar to this one for every course around Atlanta. I think it would great for people that are traveling here to have a players view of the courses. We are going to video Wills this Saturday so I will have a perfect round for the new layout hopefully by Monday that everyone can watch.

Hopefully I can find someone that would want to video ERP from Blacks. I think this will be the hardest to video the perfect round but it would be fun to watch.

If you get a bunch of good disc golf players together, the video will likely take less time to shoot. You might want to post a time and place when you're shooting East Roswell, plus it might look better with a bunch of people throwing.

yeah thats a good idea. you should try to get a few people so you don't have to throw so much to get a decent lie, but yeah i think your on the right track

IMO the video would be less interesting to watch if there is more than one person throwing.

I agree with Dollar. One person throwing a "perfect round" is more entertaining than 3 or 4 guys throwing good shots.

Dollar,

When do you want to video ERP blacks???

If you have seen the Vibram Open videos they do something like this every year. Except they have one person(The VO winnner) VS The World. A mix between these two formats would make for interesting viewing.

Craig, I would like to get together at ERP and do something of this sort. With a few people and a couple of cameras we could make something fun to watch.

North Ga disc golfer and dg video guru Matt Crider would be great to get on board for something like this. (maybe if you wanted to do meeks or something up there) His camera is SICKO.....here's his youtube page

To honestly answer your question "Would I watch this" , the answer would be no. I watched the first few holes and got bored watching you birdie them all(nice shooting), and stopped it. All kidding aside, good camera work and would like for you to video the PPIC if you would be interested. I've been trying to get Luke to do it for years, but he's been studding out making babies and smoking crack.
Fart, it's never not funny!

I've actually been wanting to do this a JP Moseley. I think it might take two cameras however to gain the full scope of the perfect shot(s) required for each hole.

This is a great video and I love the concept. I know it would be extra work but a hole-by-hole map would be a cool idea too...but the footage and brief description you have is cool too...

This Sunday I will be mapping each of the holes at Moseley and will be inputing them in for computer images. I will also be using the images to enventually make new tee signs. If you ever make it to Moseley I would be willing to make the computerized tee signs available for your youtube project.

Good job, keep it up!
Johnson! Keep an eye on that Kherplakistan situation...

or go hi-tech. this course is going to have a smartphone scannable code @ each hole that will link to video like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6AN0dnqFVw

Very cool but way too much work for me. I would rather watch a disc fly down a hole.

I just want to give a course tour while watching someone throw the perfect round.

I think it's a good idea, and I wouldn't expect anybody to be able to throw a "perfect" round on any course without multiple takes. The dude who posted that comment on your Youtube page must have been watching too many Cubby Ace videos.

I'd love to help you out with this in my spare time, and I have a small camcorder that I would be happy to use. It's not HD or anything fancy, but it's really easy to work with, especially for things like this where your main purpose is to post to Youtube.

Someone has taken this to a whole new level!
For those keeping score, this goes way beyond a perfect round at Winthrop.
