It is at the Hippodrome....I didn't notice it before and I wonder when this was originally added to the PDGA list?
My understanding is that the coolest kids are heading down to Albany.

I think it was added to give the guys whose women are playing at the Magnolia something to do.

The idea for this tourney was around for a while but the sanctioning and sign-ups didn't happen until a couple of weeks ago. I think that has something to do with the weak turnout so far.

Played the Hogback course yesterday. It is a short technical (a little gimmicky) course on the same property as the Hippodrome. I enjoyed it and it should be a scoring course. Talked to someone who said over 40 advanced players were signed up so I guess they're just not posting info online. I still don't know what courses/tees we're playing on what days...

Proof Chehaw was cooler place to be.

Postby mrpbody33 » Mon Oct 18, 2010 8:47 am

More proof that Chehaw was the place to be this weekend. Seriously guys if you haven't played the course in Albany yet you are missing out on a fun and challenging course.

He just copied the script from the video. Weak sauce! As Barry said, at least it's coverage. No real slice of the media pie, just crumbs. I'd like to see what they do with a big story, like Obemuh visiting Alabnay. BTW,nice put, Bryann.

Eastern Am Championships is INVALID. How can the winner be an AM when he has won pro tournaments in the last few years?!?

Yeah, the final score looks a little off when the winner is 16 strokes ahead of second and shooting 1000+ rated rounds.

I played with him the first round and he was very consistent. No bogeys if I remember correctly. I thought you had to be a member of the PDGA to play an A-tier?

i'm guessing he signed up for the PDGA at the event, if not this is an issue. There was at least 5 non members, according to our database. Still don't have the membership forms or TD report from the event.......

I was also apalled at the blatant use of whatever rules they wanted to enforce around the course. Throw over those haybales over there you have to retee with no penalty. Throw OB here move up a tee and rethrow with penalty. Throw OB on another hole and throw from drop zone 30 feet from the basket even if you went OB 200 feet away. Miss the mando on the same hole and retee with penalty. The whole thing was quite confusing.

This is why a lot of us don't play tournaments at the Hippo, too carnival like. Plus its hard to decifer which rules you are using on any given day. Although Pete is an awesome promoter of the sport and does a tremendous amount for disc golf and attracting new players. Some people do love playing there and feel that this is a fun form of golf, I relate it more to putt putt golf in myrtle beach.

I agree. I wasn't aware of this when I signed up for the "a-tier" it was supposed to be.
