What is this a fundraiser for?
Since it is unsanctioned will it be a cash or voucher payout for ams?
Will there be a flyer for pre-registration?
Thanks!

DGU will cost 1.20 for JR, 1.50 for REC and 1.80 for PRO/INT/ADV, is instant and you can download excel spreadsheets of players scores etc.

Check will reach you in time if you close reg. 1 week early and you can still manually enter yourself with no issues.

Only thing to note with DGU, check to see if you show up on the list immediately, if you don't get in touch with them.

I had a couple errors with mine but they were easy to work with.

Technically, the age breaks for junior divisions are 10, 13, 16, and 19, based on your age January 1 of the current year. 19 & Under is the oldest junior division. Most juniors around here who're 16 and over (and even some younger players) tend to play in the adult divisions, partly because there often aren't enough players for a juniors division, and partly because they're good enough to compete (and even win) in those divisions.

So I have had a few people tell me when they register it comes back a error. Just let it go because it looks like they are still getting a conformation email. The Innova office is closed for the weekend so first thing Monday morning I will call to them to make sure nobody is billed more then once for this tourney.

Thanks

If they're registered, you should see their name in the registered players list. A couple of us had it barf on us when we tried to register for Bill's tourney, but I think he managed to get everything straight without too much hassle.

You shoulda used what Greg, Vach and I are using now that Solstice will be not doing online signups any longer - PDGA Signup - you can use it for Sanctioned or Unsanctioned Events.

Alexander Aerial Armada Player's pack and CFR discs came in today. If you want a specific model in your player's pack, send me a PM after you are registered.

Destroyer (170-175)
Roc (178-180)
Leopard (170-175)
Cobra (175-177)
Stingray (175-177)

The Champion Mako is the CFR Sponsorship disc that you can buy during registration. I'm not a fan of the star Mako, but this champion version is less flippy, yet still holds that nice anny.

Christy is signed up.

I just noticed you have registration ending that friday, if you want your check before the tournament you might want to end it the friday before, as in next friday. I closed mine the saturday before the event and had the check wednesday.

I don't think I mentioned in the top post but we will be accepting cash entry fees day of the tourney. I would like to keep it just cash and no checks it will help us add to the pay outs

So...

...between sign-ups and spoken commitments, we know of about 60 people coming to play Saturday. Last year we had around 20 people show up the day of the tournament and had to turn a few away.

I doubt we'll have to turn anyone away this year, but if you are going to sign up the day of, please plan to arrive early enough to be sure you get a spot. Please bring cash for day-of registrations. Or go ahead and register on-line through Friday.

The 3 side games cover the 3 basic skills in golf, long drives, up-shot accuracy and putting. There's also a raffle for a basket donated by DiscStalker.

We have some cool things in mind for Lenora and Alexander coming up. Please help support those efforts by playing in this tournament and the various side competitions.

we have all divisions, and they are all separate. like gerrit said we have some side events as well. everyone is welcome to join in the fun, you do not have to be a registered player to play. not only did disc stalker donate a travel basket but also a fade bag i believe it's called the birdie bag. both of those items will be raffled off as a package deal for just $1(enter as many times as you would like).

So I know this is probably impossible to determine, BUT, about what time will this be wrapping up? Was planning on playing Alexander that morning and a few other courses on my way to Atlanta for a surprise party that starts 7:30. Just found out about the tourny and am considering playing in it but can't be late for the party soo...any guesstimation might help us decide if we have time. Thanks.

Don't know if you are kidding or serious about the kegs - but even though it is non-sanctioned - I'm pretty sure the GDGO probably doesn't want to lose their goodwill with the park department by having it inside park boundaries - unless the park is different than other GA parks where it is illegal to have it.

If so in keeping with the SNL theme - NEVERMIND...................................Bitch!

we made a few adjustments to the games:

BIG ARM = WINNER TAKES ALL, that means when you hear the horn the longest disc is the winner! $5 for 3 throws

Accuracy = The 5 individuals with the closest throws when you hear the horn will get 1 last throw for the 5 prizes. Closest will get first choice, 2nd closest will choose next, etc. $1 per throw or $4 for 5 throws

Putting = each player will get 3 putters, we will putt in 10' increments. so start at 10' you make it take your disc out and go to 20' with your 3 putters, get to 20' you miss your 1st putt you still have 2 more putter to use, if you get that second try in you get ONLY the one disc in the basket. now you have 2 putts from 30' if you miss both putts you furthest distance is 20'. $5 for 3 putters(your own) this is a 50/50 cash prize and a new gateway voodoo putter.

Nobody's gonna throw until the see the person with the horn walking up.

Set beginning and end times work better with things like these side games.

Especially for distance - could be longest of 5 throws - then longest of 3 throws in the finals for the top 3 or 5 (whatever your cut is). The same as it's done at Worlds and big Events like the Vibram Open.

I'm not gonna throw, I'm just gonna run right in front of all the bigarms as you are getting ready to blow the horn, so a REC player will get the longest throw and win the prize with a 250 foot shot!

We were out there this afternoon (with umbrellas), measuring and marking for the Big Arm (in intervals from 200 to 500 ft.) and Accuracy contests, y'all know those little magnolia trees can mess with your head. GDGO headquarters will be at the large pavilion closest to the pond. You can drop off personal coolers there when you check in, and extra bags of ice before and during lunch will be much appreciated. There are lots of great prizes for CTP's and side action, plus a nice payout. This is gonna be a sell out guys, get there early if you haven't pre-registered. We'll start accepting registrations at 7:30 am.

The GDGO board went out tonight and sprayed out the tee circle for the accuracy event, and sprayed out the big arm zone. We are all very excited for tomorrow to come! Right now the online registration is closed and we have 42 people signed up ready to go. We have 48 spots left and from the amount of phone calls I've been getting those spots are going to fill up FAST. REMEMBER registration starts at 7:30am!

Congrats to Dollar and Woody - 1/2 in Open - second time in 3 Events at Alexander that Dollar needed all 36 holes to beat an "Over the Hill" age-wise golfer by 1 stroke
Dusty winning in ADV,
Emily VanVranken for winning JR Girls (and getting a 2 on hole 12!)
and the TD Greg Pothier for winning INT in his own Event.

Thanks to the GDGO for all their hard work on getting the course ready, providing us with free lunch, and running all the side action.

Good times were had by all --------and that's the truth - last SNL reference I promise

I'm sure when Mr. Pothier winds down later this weekend sometime - all the results from everything will be posted. :D

A big THANK YOU to all 70 players for making my first TD experience a great one!
Greg Cambell
Keith Johnson
Brett Porter
Woody
Al Hause
Barry Arnson
and the whole GDGO board jumped right in and helped with the scoring as well as the side action, and cooking near the HOT grill for us all. If I missed people I'm very sorry. I wanted to congratulate all players that chose AAAII as there first tourney to play in. Let's talk a bit more about some fun results shall we.......let's see CTP hit were, hole 8 Justin Dickerson, hole 10 Scott Hazlett, hole 13 Charles Eldridge, and the GDGO sponsored CTP hole 1 Brian Grundleger. Now on the the Accuracy Event, it was a nice 170' approach Mike Curtis, Al Hause, Cody Britton, and Nathan Garner. Putting event was pretty fun and we had a pretty good putt off but in the end Keith Johnson was the victor. Keith Johnson also ACED hole 7, so we all know now he has both the long game and the short game. :D Last but not least the BIG ARM EVENT and the winner is........Matt Versola with a 585' Aerial Armada super bomb!

All of the scores will be posted soon Gerrit will be posting them with his fancy shot analysis and stuff.

Once again disc golf rocks and we are all part of it. I had a great time and I can't wait till my next chance to TD another tourney!

thank for posting those score so fast Gerrit!

I hope everyone is feeling good this morning. I know that hot sun in the second round got to a few people. I also forgot to mention the winner of our Innova Travel basket and Fade bag raffle. That went to Derek "disc diver" Wonderly!

Thanks to Greg, GDGO Members and all others that contributed to a great tournament. This was my first tournament and I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forwards to the next one!

Had a great time putting more faces with names. Great tourney Greg you killed it. The super sneaky players party was a good time as well. I know me and Dave are anxiously awaiting our bottle cap basket!!!

Here is the per hole analysis for the AAA-II. This is second round only because I don't have the first round scorecards. 5,6,14,16 are all in the short positions. 3 is middle left.

Looks like the pros had a rough time at hole 4 =-)

AAA-II Hole Analysis

Some interesting 2.5 holes that I didn't think would be. 14 short for example.

I'll see if we still have the cards for the first round and run those also...

1&2 being so high is kind of shocking.

And ADV...over 3 on 12...aren't you guys supposed to be accurate or something? :D
(my personal is 3.11 on that hole and the only one I am close to par on from the blues)
