Checking in from Worlds at the County Library during a massive thunderstorm complete with tornado warning that has already knocked the power out twice in the last hour.

Glad my tee time and round was earlier in the day!

Reminder that in 2 days 6 hours and 15 minutes - Signup for Lake Russell begins.

Sign up here: http://www.supersixseries.com

I will have no access to being able to put the names up until MONDAY - so please be patient in seeing them.
If you are allowed to sign up for the LRO you are in - If that is sold out then make sure to sign up for the Woods at Lake Russell Event as that's the ONLY place waitlist players will come from in first come first served time stamped order.

Enjoy and have fun!

Will you be moving basket positions? They are currently in different ones than listed in your hole by hole layouts. I think you usually use the same layout from year to year, but i am curious as it is playing super lefty friendly right now :)
Although i really like the hole 5 long position.....

Usually when I go there to clean up and trim stuff at the end of August I also have to move 1-3 baskets from where they are and then let the maintainence people know not to change them until after the Event.
If the hillside is cleared on 13 I'll use it for all 3 otherwise I'll set it to the description layout unless the maintainence guy from last year was able to clean and maintain a couple of places we talked about - and then I can change what needs to be changed.
Until I print the program AFTER coming back from there - everything is subject to change - the first year I couldn't get the broken plastic out of the sleeves to move a couple I hoped to use, so I had to do some rewording.

I haven't seen it since last SEPT - and I'm definately looking forward to the visit later this month!

The only one everyone has cared about since I moved to GA - all the original drama came before my time here - I've only gotten to witnesss it 2 times in a 3 week period 2 years ago, but if there's even a HINT of any drama this time, it will be a much smaller field that finishes the Event in 2010.

As stated VERY CLEARLY before "all the original drama came before my time here " and he has never played Pro Masters since I've been here - just ADV Masters - so to me personally as a TD he has moved up.

Happy birthday and put down the women of disc golf for one.

I will take 17 and I will see you at Alex tomorrow...probably during lunch or at the end as I am waiting at home for my parents to arrive before I can come out and hang.

UPDATE!!

Got back earlier tonight after working at Wills on teepads  to 1PM, and then going up to prep Lake Russell.

Course looks good - the park will mow the fairways 2 more times (once this coming week and once week of Event)
Only light trimming was needed in a few places.

1 Hole - #3 is different - to the right - as the park has cleaned up the area and finally removed the PVC pipe in the sleeve to be able to use it again (hole description and distance updated in top post)

Hole 13 will stay on the hillside all 3 rounds (used last year on Sunday round as well as past Events) - hole description updated in top post

The only negative thing I saw was someone cut and mangled the branches on the tree next to the #6 Basket to allow crappy throws to the right of the basket pin high to have a clean line to pin from 50-60 feet away negating the design of the hole - much like when the "back door branch" was purposely cut off - it just degrades the hole a little at a time.

The hole was designed to approach the green and basket from one location and it has now been made disturbingly easier with these last 2 unapproved "changes" :(

How about a final nine for AM Masters. I understand not doing it for the INT and REC players but if you are having it for the open and Masters and ADV I think you should have it for the AM Masters. I once could compete with the pro masters but with impending double knee replacement and a 300+ pound body to lug around I can't (at this point) play with the big boys anymore. Just a suggestion......I want to beat Mike, Chad and Dusty in a final nine scenario because I don't have much time left.

P.S. I am pulling for "yack and pack and Kraken with a bad backen" (VACH) to win .

P.S.S. why isn't the original "Yack and Pack" playing....I miss you "Red" or better yet "Cheeto"

Yak-N-Pak is slowly retiring. I just don't have the passion for this sport that I once had. I do wish there was another Lake Russell tournament at some point during the year. Preferably unattached to the GSSS.

Not Chuck! I just feel like everything has become very redundant. I'm competitive, but I also feel that there is a level of fun involved too. It's not fun anymore. For now, I'm sticking to sanctioned doubles tournaments and practice on personal goals.

Jay,
80% of the people who read this board have no clue who you are. Of the 20% who do, about 6 care. I am one of the 6 and hope you decide to continue playing tournaments. I understand the redundancy that you speak of, but you haven't played the non-redundant events such as any of the Monticello action, or the Fish and Pig Classic in Macon. Stop wasting your time and money on Tupelo Bay. Trust me and try them out. They may inject some enthusiasm. Plus, stop being a whiney beyotch!

Now that Greg and Jay Phillips have shared their McFlurry, we can get back to the Event info.

3 days left to get one of the 7 remaining tee signs - special pricing of $25 for sign and CFR disc for the remaining signs. Deadline is FRI - SEPT 4th at 5PM.

This is the last Event for the points bonus to be earned, and I'll have the spreadsheet with me to be able to calculate the totals in case you are not signed up for the Finale (and WHY aren't you, since it is less than 4 weeks away? )

There were 2 people signed up over the weekend for the Woods (LR official waitlist) that will be the next 2 players in.
So far 3 have made it in from the Woods list - we are 10 days away.

Camping spots - if any are left - can be checked at the state website for Richard B. Russell State Park.

Next year the Event will be the Finale of the Series again!

See everyone in 10 days!

Don't you remember Keith???? Smacktalk and chatter are done with stickers and golf balls at the LRO!!!

Cheesecake is done and chilling. For the uninitiated, on Hole #11 for both Saturday rounds, you have a chance to win a quarter of a pumpkin cheesecake by being one of the 4 closest to the pin. Buy in is $2 and to proceeds will benefit "The Monty" golf course at Deer Ridge. I am not going to brag but here are some testimonials for my cheesecake.

"It's the only dessert I bring to my lemon parties!" Gomez

Spoke with the park today around noon and they told me that Mark was out mowing the course getting in ready for this weekend!

The port-o-jon will be delivered on FRI afternoon and everything else seems set.

I'll be there FRI afternoon to set up the course, and i'll see everyone SAT morning!

They only cut that once a year in NOV - it is easy to find your disc in there and it is not hard to throw out of 90% of it - but just not as nice as the nicely mowed fairways.

I will be doing a $5 CTP buy in with proceeds going toward my goal this year of $1500 for the Ronald McDonald House. Last year we raised $1500 during Pam B Childs Memorial and hope at least to do the same this year on Nov20 at IDGC. The holes will be hole #4 and #7 for both rounds on Sat thats 4 chances to win or $1.25 a throw. I will be putting up 2 glow CFR Wraiths and 2 of my disc that I have dyed plus any disc that may get donated to the cause. Please help me help them ....Thanks BATMAN

WRONG!! - I always thank Brett profusely and publically at all of my Events and have given him several discs for his worthy efforts - you need to pay more attention at the players meetings at the few Events of mine you attend.

RESULTS HERE: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results? ... ngs=1#Open

Thanks to everyone who showed and if 3 registered players who were there but chose to not play - actually played Lake Russell would have gone off full for the first time in GSSS history.

Next year the Lake Russell Event will again be the finale to the Series, so mark SEPT 10-11 on your calendar and remember in less than 1 month you can signup to get your cabins and campsites for the Event.

More info on the Series for 2011 will be available after the 2010 Finale in 11 days!

Can't set par for finals in the database -it assumes an 18 hole round - it gets fixed in official results when TD report is processed.

He shot outstanding golf last 2 full rounds - ZERO wind for all 3 rounds let most players of 950+ ratings to shoot under par, but he was on another level - like to see what he could do at Central in 11 days.

I'm pretty sure that is his 8th straight win!! I wouldn't say he is the best player in Georgia anymore, more like the southeast now!!

Congrats are due to Brad Bowman who blitzed the bagger advanced field after wrecking his motorcycle only days before. I guess I should have paid more for the hitman...

My first time at Lake Russell and it was the most fun and memorable tournament ever. Makes Bowling Green seem boring. Thanks Moose and Keith!

Just got back from the lake and want to thank Keith and the family for running a great event. Big thanks to Brett and everyone else that helped out. Also thanks to the Park folks that did a great job on the course.

I hope everyone listened to Chigger Brown and didn't bring home to many critters. 8)
