Postby ThrowinRocs » Wed Jul 14, 2010 3:24 pm

Several college disc golf teams have gotten together to create a new collegiate tournament. SECO is open to the first 18 collegiate teams that get there registrations in. SECO is also the venue for crowning an SEC disc golf champion.

If you want to know more about the tournament, check out our website http://SEcollegiateopen.webs.com

No, and unfortunately, it will not be a super class event either.

What it will be is an awesome tournament at an amazing venue playing host to some of the best collegiate disc golfers in the Southeast. You should get involved, Barry.

Is the Georgia Tech team "hosting" the event?? If so, I see it only appropriate for an alumni team of the host school to represent.

I think this would only be natural. Perhaps this would be the greatest example of Alumni support.

I like the enthusiasm coming from the alumni. Right now there is nothing planned, but we may be able to squeeze in a 9-hole alumni competition on Saturday. Even if you can't play, spectators will be more than welcome on both days. Think back to your college days and imagine how cool it would be to play disc golf for your school, with a gallery cheering each shot. Or the good shots, anyways...

Also, consider purchasing a hole sponsorship. You will get mention on the tournament website and a sign on the tee. Advertise your business or promote you're alma mater, either way it will be supporting collegiate disc golf.

Seeing as how I couldn't get enough people together for a KSU team when I was still a student. Can I head up a KSU Alumni odd dog team? :D

You could call your ex-girlfriends from KSU and start an all female collegiate team

Some updates. Hole sponsorships are available for purchase. You will get a sign at the tee for your name, logo, website, and whatever other image or message you'd like (subject to approval, of course). You also a hearty thank-you in the players' meeting and mention on the tournament website. Holes 1-17 are $50 per hole, and holes 19-27 are available for only $25. More info to come on the tournament site. Main sponsorships are available for $100-$499, and one title sponsorship is available for $500. Send me a pm for more details.

In a couple weeks or so there will be a limited number of CFR discs for sale. 15 Katanas and 10 Destroyers, $20 apiece. If those sell out we may order some more, molds to be determined.

http://secollegiateopen.webs.com/scheduleformat.htm. Four players from each school. Two rounds, the three best scores from each round are totaled, and the lowest cumulative score wins.

Awesome tournament after day one. Final round of 27 at Flyboy tees off at 10:00 tomorrow, so come out if you want to see some great collegiate golf. Plus you can pick up some sweet CFRs including some signed Avery Jenkins schwag. If you are an alum or just a fan of any of the 18 schools competing, come cheer your team!
