Would a free tournament incur park fees?

Postby billnchristy » Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:43 am

Part of my deal with the PDGA was to run a free tournament at the end of the clinic series to introduce any of the participants who wanted to play to competitive play. This event will be completely free and will only "pay" in donated goods.

It will be in the fall, that is about all I know because I have not had the time with the tournament to even think about when and where the next rounds of clinics will be, though I am working on one in SC.

No clue what turn out would be either, I know that if only 10-15 people show up it would be easy to run "under the radar" but I really prefer my events to be legit.

So those with mad knowledge of the area courses and the counties that run them...where would you suggest this event take place?

The IDGC might work as well.

I have used Redan to hold all my match play tag events and just gone out there and used the course. It really all depends on how many folks you have showing up to play and if you will be taking over the whole course.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell.

I have 25 signed up for my real tournament and have heard about another 15-20 tell me they are going to come...if that happens then holy crap but it kind of proves that there will be no way to predict what kind of turn out there would be.
