I'll do whatever type of tournament to finally get some atlanta people down this way.

KHAAAAAAAAAN How come you get away with cursey words on my little post? Learn some grammar! Don't capitalize "Shit" in the middle of a sentence unless it's a name!

Sorry, that's a quote from a wanna-be governor in Alabama last week.

No Superclass! No PDGA! Eventually PDGA for the singles tournament, but I think it's the right idea to keep Monty Dubs the way it is.

The Monty---also known as Deer Ridge--- is just north of Monticello, which is south of Conyers by about 25 miles. It's at the Jasper County Recreation Department (Ted Sauls Drive). The quickest/simplest way from ATL is probably I-20 to 138 to 212. Before you get to Monticello (about 2 miles before) you'll see a firetower to the right. Ted Sauls Drive is hard to see until you're on top of it; it has a few white signs that say "Jasper County Recreation Department" and "Disc Golf Course" and "Jasper County Recycling and Convenience Center".

If you see the Sheriff's Department on the right, you've gone too far.

The Cleanup/doubles action for next Saturday has been moved to Sunday 5/16. Doubles will be at 1:00 and will be the first official "function" of the middle georgia disc golf league.

I love the Monty so much I proposed to it. My wife will be mad, but I think I'll just turn Mormon.

My wife/artist went to the Monty yesterday to work on the Mural. It looks more complete every time she touches it, and it costs me another 20 bucks. It's worth it, though, every time I see the giant basket from 500 feet away.

Also, the grass has been mowed AGAIN. This time, the trailer hole (15) was completely cleaned up. It's a pretty, tiny green.
Tomorrow's work day should yield more course changes.

The signup list has been updated; note that it is under the Deer Ridge Thread (soon to be the MONTY at Deer Ridge). I'm certain more are coming that have signed up online; it has been this way since the tournament started. Also, if you know you are coming, you could make a contribution to the food donation list. It's for lunch at my place, between rounds. No, this isn't PDGA, so we have more than an hour between rounds (usually about 1.5 hrs after last group comes in). Most folks head to my place, cool off in Jackson Lake, eat a little food and make a course donation. Check out, under the Deer Ridge Thread, FOOD DONATIONS FOR BBQ LUNCH FUNDRAISER AT TOURNAMENT.

And thanks in advance.

The Hotel Jackson Lake is now full. Anyone else wanting to stay will probably have to bring a tent for the dock/yard. The player list has grown larger. Check the Deer Ridge Thread for who's coming.

Doubles list updated this morning. Check out the Deer Ridge thread under "signup list/accomodations.

If you've signed up, please consider bringing something for Saturday's lunch. It's free, but I'd beg you to at least make a small donation if you come and eat. We still need

cups
plates
plasticware
napkins
slaw or potato salad
anything people eat with bbq (pickles, etc)

NOTES FOR THOSE COMING THIS WEEKEND

1. Wear tick protection. They aren't as bad as they were a month ago, but they are there.
2.Five holes will be in the sun, including the longest hole on the course (over 500?). Sunblock.
Bring swimming trunks and a towel for in between rounds and after the second round on Saturday. Jackson Lake is scrumtrulescent after a hot round of disc golf. Sunday will not feature a fundraiser lunch. I recommend DQ, or if you're into 3 veg and a meat, Ingle's Deli. Pop's barbecue
3. Bring bucks for the fundraiser lunch--funds being raised for the Monty (funds to be used for teepads!) Lunch will be a little longer than the average PDGA tournament, at my house. I'll give directions and tell everyone when I'm heading back to the course. Usually it's about 1.5 hours after the last group finishes the first round when we start the second.
4. If you are staying at Luke's, bring sleeping gear (blanket/sleeping bag/pillow/doll
5. If you are staying for the party Saturday night, bring something to complement Chop's quesadillas. Specifics are under the food thread
