I tried the link in this listing, but no images would load and the site kept asking for a username and password. Is this already booked full, and if not, is registering the day of the event still ok? Thanks for the help.

What are the details on this event? Will there prizes for winners? Will these mulligans count towards you final offical score?

The details are mostly on the top post. Only losers are getting prizes and the winners will all wish they lost.
The mulligans, unlike real mulligans in ball golf, will deduct $100 each from your income tax return if not
used efficiently. Hope this answers your questions.

In all seriousness, do we have a monetary goal we are trying to achieve, approximately?

There will not be any 'prize' unless you consider the cement teepads a prize. CTP's will win vouchers in both divisions, payout depending on ctp buy-in.
Mulligans will count, otherwise there is no point in buying them.
Our goal is to raise over $1,000 for cement teepads. I hope that will get us enough cement for at least half of the course...if labor is provided of course.

You'd pay $1 for each one you want to participate in. Hole #2 is going to be a second shot ctp. If you go to the website for sign-up, you gotta select the number of CTP's in your final cart.

If you already signed up and didn't change the CTP quantity, then Nick should be emailing you for confirmation.

Okay that is what I thought but I did not see how many CTP's there are anywhere, I probably just missed it somewhere. Either way, see you next Saturday and thanks for putting a tourney on. I will buy in for a few more at the event.

Just wondering what the story is for the artwork?
White Tigers = White Oak ? Kinda like Central = Dragons ?

Bobby: 18 Ctp's, one on each hole. For the longer holes the ctp will be your 2nd shot that you throw. All-in-all, ctp's will cost $18 if you buy-in on all of them.
Add in cost of the tourney ($20), ace fund ($2), hole sposorship ($30) (optional), stroke your opponent ($1 each, 3max optional), $5 cash side-action, ctp's ($18 optional) and mulligans ($1 each or 6 for $5, 6 max) bought for the grand total.

Most you can spend is $83, plus lunch.

Seems like a lot of money for $5 action and $1 ctp's.... But it is all optional, like even going.

Do we need to specify which holes we bought ctp's for? I just signed up, and didn't see a place for it. I bought 11 of em, but i need to pick the holes!

Directions to"WHITE OUT” - SAT. JAN. 23rd, 2010

Postby Gator » Tue Jan 19, 2010 9:12 pm

Thanks for running the tournament!
Here are the directions for the unfortunate folks, like myself, whom have not yet played this course:
Directions:
I-75 N; exit 269 (Barrett Pkwy). Left off exit, right on Dallas Hwy/Hwy 120, right on Thorton Rd/Hwy 278, left on Hwy 61 S to a left on Mustang Dr. Right into the park.

Thanks-
Greg Guttinger #11156
PS- You can buy in and then randomly stroke your opponent? How does that work?
PS-Is there going to be any problem with showing up on Sat to sign up?(of course I will plan on being there prior to 8:30 am).

Greg,
Strokes for the opponent will work like 'antihandicap' . Any player can be assessed a total of 3 strokes to the overall score. If you think someone should be playing in the pro division, but they play Ams...just start them with ground to make up on the field. Or, stroke the top pros to level the playing field. Yeah, I see the humor in that   I might throw a dollar or two on Dan O'reilly just for drawin' such an awful disc stamp

Right now there are around 40 open spots, but if you want to be sure to get a player's pack, use the free on-line sign-up

Thank you for putting on the tourney today. White Oak is always a lot of fun and challenging. I can't wait to see the results. I hope enough money went to the Hughes family and teepads. I'm intereseted to know how it comes out because I think a few people are talking about doing that same tourney at Central Park. Central would be awesome with concrete tee pads. Anyway, thanks again!!!

This post was meant to be a SARCASTIC remark! Dan did a fabulous job on the disc design, and incorporated everything I asked for in the drawing. I am stating this now as a fully public forum, Thankyou for the drawing.
It is regretful that the misinterpretation of this comment caused many folks to skip the tourey due to unintended animosity. It only hurt the efforts to get cement tee pads.

No one skipped because of any gay little comments. Lets not overblow things. Dan and I skipped because we accidentally got hammered drunk on friday trying to look at vaginas, and being awake and moving around seemed like a bad idea at 9am saturday morning. I don't really know if he and I qualify as "many" people, but I hope our absence didnt ruin everything for everybody  . Donations will be made to the appropriate people cuz I want concrete out at white oak as much as anyone else. Hope the tourney went well and everyone had a great time. I thank Pete for running it and hope a bunch of money was raised. Only knowing one side, I do see why Dan got a little pissed though. He designed the disc for the tourney for no compensation and little gratitude, and the only feedback he got about his design was your comment, with nothing to really suggest that it was a sarcastic playful remark. Since he's a graphic designer who does that stuff for a living, I'm guessing that he took that comment to mean that you were crapping on his handiwork after he spent a lot of time making up different designs for you for free. I'm sure you had the best intentions, but I can see where someone might misinterpret that. I think Pete and Dan should tie their wrists together and have a knife fight like in the Michael Jackson "Bad" video. Either way, Go Why Toke

No one should think I would stab a bud in the back like that. And even if I had wanted to crap on the art, I would just say it looks F'-ed up.
In a untactful way I guess..I joked that he would be assessed two meaningless strokes in a meaningless event.
I figured that anyone who knows Dan would know his art is top notch, so it was meant to be an ironic form of recognition.
Evidently some folks took it the wrong way, so I'm sorry.

I know that without being a local to WO and without knowing the master plan in longterm for the course that my opinion may not matter that much.....but. With that being said, I really think that those teepads are okay for now, tee signs and maybe wind flags on the baskets would benefit the course more so then teepads for now. That is just my opinion. Anyone in my first round group can verify me asking "how far do we think this is" on some of the shorter holes a god bit. Central Park has the wind flags and they are great. Like I said above I really know nothing about the overall plan or status, that is just my opinion.

Ideally, we would like to have sanctioned PDGA events at White Oak. They may eventually
be larger A-Tier tournies, thus the need for concrete tee pads. I do agree with you on the
signs. They are needed. Maybe we can put that on the roster for Spring work.

Just a thought I had.

Are concrete pads required for PDGA sanctioned events? I have never played in one.

Not really required, but attract travelling players better than natural pads.
Plus, they are much better in wet conditions.

Just to update on the fundraising effort:
We made $97 after recooping costs to run this thing. It's not as bad as it sounds though.
We have a residual supply of discs that have retail value of over $1,200. That is a result of only half the people showing up that we anticipated.
What does this mean for cement tee pads?
We are selling these discs on the www.whiteoakdiscgolf.com website. All our costs were recovered, so 100% of the funds received from disc sales will go into the park improvement fund. We will be setting up a Wachovia savings account to accept donations for the park as well.
As Nick and myself progress towards our goal of getting cement for the park, we are also intent on creating a non-profit club much like others in the area.
This will help to create a legitimate presence for Paulding County Disc Golf, and allow for structured advancement of one of the best courses in the southeast.
Help the cause by pitching in on coursework days, and please spread the word about the fundraiser discs.
Champion Glo Excalibers - $25
Star Excalibers- $16

I give my heartfelt thanks to everyone that came out to our White Out event, as it was not the best weather for it.
Nick should have scores posted very soon on the white oak website, and I will copy and post them here ASAP.

Sorry, Nick's site is having a host of problems at the moment. His work and other commitments come first, so just check back intermitently.

Who else besides Mark Cannon was interviwed for the video Saturday?

I need to send you a release form by E-mail so your footage can be used.

Mark and myself are the only ones I know of for sure, but I think others were also interviewed.

For the awards and crowd scenes or video of throwing it is not needed, just for interviews.

PM me with your email address and I will send the form to you.

It must be returned by FEB 1st, so please don't delay if you wish to be a part of the final production!

I love the tiger stamp design. Is it all Excaliburs, or are there other molds among the fundraiser discs?

We were only able to get xcalibers in white. Innova custom printed on white discs for us, so we took whatever mold they could offer. Not that the White theme really got noticed though.

Brad Bowman by 6 strokes over myself.
Brad used 6 mulligans and was given 3 anti mulligan strokes, and I bought no mulligans or had any used against me.

One day Pete or Nick will post scores.
