Has anyone seen my basket?

Postby keith johnson » Tue Oct 27, 2009 12:14 pm

John Inman just called to let me know that someone had stolen his nearly new Discatcher Pro Portable basket with the wire stand last evening from his back yard.
He lives approximately 1 mile from Oregon Park, so please keep your eyes open if you see anyone using or trying to sell one they didn't have earlier.
Please contact John at 404-483-4572 or at ujohnny2@bellsouth.net with any information - and a $250 reward is offered for the return of the basket.

The basket has a unique identifying mark on it that will distinguish it from other baskets.

John reports that the basket was recovered this morning after his wife saw it on the way to work in a neighboorhood close to his. He thanks everyone (Except Gomez  ) for their assistance and thoughts.

Hey Guys, I'm John, it was my basket that once was lost, but now it's found. I put up alot of posters with a picture of one, and offering $250 reward for the arrest and conviction, with my number and Cobb County Police number. I think they were surprised by the reaction and they panicked and dumped it in the turn lane of the subdivision next to my house. My wife left for work before daylight and there it was, upside down, almost in the road. I would again like to thank everyone, (except for Gomez), for putting the word out and helping me get it back. I especially want to thank Keith for everything he does.....you're the man.

Keith is the one who took it in the first place. :)
I heard he is giving away a used basket at each GSSS 2010 event in some crazy raffle.

Yeah that's great news. I hope we don't start seeing more of this kind of behavior around OP. Maybe the result will give any would-be thieves pause before they try anything like it again.

This kind of behavior is more prevalent at OP than any other course. No one there returns lost discs
and I've seen instances of them taking discs that were just thrown. I also remember one doubles where
some homos actually pulled up to the parking lot and stole a temp basket that was in front of the
bridge to hole one DURING DOUBLES! What kind of scumbag golfers are you guys producing over there!
Is there no adult supervision over there? You elders need to teach these new players some etiquette.

I guess I should have added that my post was not a slam on Oregon or
players that care like Mark C, Mike E., Lewis, Wayne, etc. It just seems that
the casual players have no respect and their is a bad element about that
park due to those derelicts.
