Border Wars V 05 Sep 09

Postby tdg » Wed Jul 22, 2009 9:22 am

We have finally got a date for this years Border Wars. This is a bring your own partner best throw doubles. This year round 1 will begin at Seneca,SC, After about a 1 1/2 hr lunch we'll tee up the second round in Toccoa. This is the 5th year of this event. Georgia has taken home the trophy 3 times. Last year we had only 1 Pro team to their 5. Jay Phillips and I finished second. We definately could use some Pro and Mixed team help. I should have complete details in a few days. This is Seneca's year to spearhead the event. Start thinking of your partners. We hold 18 Team spots for each State up until the week before the tourney. More Info coming - John

Anybody want to play in this? I need an intermediate partner to carry me this Saturday. I need someone that can drive long and straight and make putts so I don't have to.

My neighbor Josh Kles is looking for a partner. He can throw far and putts good when he's putting good. John is aware of him needing a partner if you guys want to work it out.

Oh my goodness! Picnic and mashburn. Who would have thought Jay's son(picnic) and his disc diva(mashburn) would be a team.

Already know about Josh. The reason I posted was to get him or me a partner if he takes mine.... Basically, Border Wars need more teams from GA. SC may have Stanhope and Innova East, but GA needs to put a spankin' on this group using a palmetto branch

Come on Atlanta disc golfers, come play! Except for Fright Flight, you don't get to bring your own partner very often. I have played Border wars for several years and it always is a very fun tournament. We all know that Georgia disc golfers are better than SC disc golfers, so it would stink to get beat because they show up with more teams!

I'm working on getting a partner, but when you smell as bad as I do, it is hard to find someone willing to put up with me! :?

If you are planning on coming let me know so that we can hold your spot. There are only 8 team spots left. SC has 15 and GA has 13 at last count on Saturday.

I guess it depends on where you are in Atlanta. I can make it to a Braves game in 1 1/2 hours. Seneca is a little over 30 minutes from Toccoa. I do drive a little on the fast side.

Great tournament guys!! We all had a blast.... shame that we (Georgia team) lost to a girl & guy team, but Sarah was nailing putts from 60 ft plus!!
