CARDIAC CUP - August 30th - White Oak

Postby O4PETESAKE » Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:15 am

I am the point-person on this tourny, but officially Nick Foscarini is the TD since he ponied up the money to get it going.

This is only one division, but the registration fee is very low to begin with( $20 to play, 2 pro-line discs, and lunch). You can be in for $20 on side action, or no side action if you aren't the competetive type. *payouts will be plastic and prizes that we get donated to this tournament, so if anyone can't make it that day and wants to contribute, I'd be grateful to accept any and all donations.
I apologize for the lack of detail here...as it is my first tournament, but please bear in mind that this is for charity( don't take it too seriously). The American Heart Association is our charity benificiary.
******Some details*******
One round will begin shortly after player's meeting @10am
Lunch will be provided following round 1, so nobody needs to go anywhere. (we cook better than we golf)
Second round will begin after lunch which should be around 2pm
**Each Players' Best Round will be the one that counts** It's really anyone's game!
Beach volleyball will just be on the side afterwards, If enough people want to, then we'll run some ca$h-action.

DON'T MISS THIS LAST CHANCE TO GET WHITE OAK TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE BEFORE FRIGHT FLIGHT(OCT31)

We're planning on an awesome tourny with the most fun layout White Oak has offered yet.
#1 is 440ft downhill par 3.
#17 is right around 340ft now (and makes for an ace run), with long awaited relief from rollaway putts.

More CTP prizes are rolling in, but we can still use a few more donations. Here is a sample of some of the contributions we've been given.

I have a few more spots left on the roster of players for the Cardiac Cup. I am not limiting the field, but we may run out of player's packs *** However, there will be the opportunity to get a 'rain-check' pack if that happens. Let me know now so you don't have to wait to get your's.

Well, at this point in time, I cannot offer any more player packs on the day of the tourny, all 50 are spoken for....but FEAR NOT!
We are going to have a sign-up sheet there Sunday. We are going to order the same 3 disc choices providing disc availability from Innova.
If you don't want to wait a few weeks, or you don't really want a player's pack, we'll lower the entry fee to $10 (lunch is still included).
If you do want the disc pack, we'll be collecting cash upfront....so,no changing your mind later.

I am getting more and more donations for this thing, which means plenty of chances to win something. Just want to emphasize that the player's meeting for this is @10am, so get there earlier than that to to sign-up/buy-in. One of the local pros is going to run side action from the side action. I think they said $10 to get in for overall winner.

Our Overall Winner today was Adam Marks. Congratulations Adam on winning the Champion Glow Banshee and the Carrabbas Gift Card along with the Cardiac Cup Trophy , and also to Chris Millay who parked the Super CTP hole to take home the Disc Catcher Traveller basket.
I know the weather wasn't great today, but thanks to all who toughed it out for the sake of the American Heart Assoc.
I have so many people to thank for their individual contributions for our tourny. The success of today's fundraiser would not have been possible without those donations.
Special thanks to John Inman who took really good care of our really great BBQ lunch, which was also beefed up by Adam Wesolowski with the bellybuster hotdogs!
Everyone knows we can't forget to give credit to Wade Selph for his hard work priming the course.
Thanks to Grease and Mike Dammes for helping Nick and me in planning.
It was a great deal of fun for us to put this whole shebang together, and I hope everyone looks forward to next year's 2nd attempt.
Please let us know what you would like to see done differently, and we will take it to HEART!

Even with 62 players there the one person NOT THERE was the only thing being talked about in the morning.

NO more Sunday only Events will be allowed in the state just to be sure that we NEVER have to see him anywhere.
At least twice this year people changed their Event to Sunday for this man and he stiffed them.

Thanks for putting this together Pete, and I hope you learned something about scoreboards yesterday.

White Oak looks GREAT and I can't wait for Feb 13th!

We netted right around $1,000. If the rain didn't make so many people drop out, we could have done a little better IMO.
I have played in worse conditions, but even with weather making trouble with the flow of the tourny, the turnout was good and the generosity of everyone made this a fabulous success. I did learn a lot from my first tournament, and with more exposure to the tourny scene, and help from others with experience, I will keep working at this thing for next year so that this year's short-comings will be turned into future strengths.

Hey Pete you did a great job. Thanks a lot for jumping in to the TD roll. So I saw you guys entering scores into a database/spreadsheet/scorekeeper. It would be a shame to not post all of the info, if possible of course.

Pete you did a good job running your first tourney. I demand a snow cone machine at every tourney I go to now. I would also like to see some of the stats when possible.

Oh and Carlos that tag is mine! Nice job skipping out at the end of the tourney!

I will post all the scores as soon as I can, which will take another day to get Nick to send to me. Sorry for not thinking of that sooner. I know the winner, Adam, shot a -5 (49). There were many different folks that won CTPs, but none of them was Chilly, which I guess sucks cause he gave some choice discs for prizes. Look for score postings sometime Tuesday Night.

The guy who was running registration(Nick), has ordered a limited amount of destroyers, rocs, and jks. He plans to give the people a raincheck player's pack for those that didn't get one the day of the tourny. After those are handled, he will be selling the rest for a small fee as an extra side fundraiser for the American Heart Assoc. When they come in, we'll post on here, so check back later if you want one.

Nick got the new discs in, so nobody cares about used discs. I guess you can PM me your requests for pro-destroyer, JK pro aviar, and R-pro Ontario Rocs. But I wont be sad if we have to sit on them, they are pretty sweet.

I will post the results as soon as I can get Nick to send them to me. If he can't remember soon, I will throw him under the short bus!
Hole #1 was 440ft, and #17 is around 350ft. All the rest of the hole lengths are posted on the White Oak thread.
I will try again to get these dang scores sent to me.

Bwahahahahaha!!!!

Just upload the excel file to Google Docs and then share the link. If you have questions you can just send the file to Ritger and he can put it on the board for ya. He does it every week with Perkerson action.
