Work party for tournament prep august 1/2

Postby luke » Mon Jul 13, 2009 1:37 pm

I'm really happy with the way the course is looking, but it needs just a few more things to be ready for the tournament on August 15. I'd like to have a work party on August 1 or 2 (sat. sun.) The newest hole needs to be cleared, and a few small trees could stand being cut as well. I need a chain saw and some of the woods fairways will need a mow down by that time. Also, the easy job of posting hole numbers needs to happen. Those willing to help please pm me. I would cook and provide some brew, and of course, Lake + ping pong at my place on Saturday evening would be eminent.

I am pretty sure I can be there. Instead of keeping quite until I know for sure I figured I would get the ball rolling and be a good example. 8)

I do not have a chainsaw but I might be able to get some of the smaller ones with my dremel.

Many thanks to Skeletor, Wade, and Wookie for an incredible work day yesterday. Without them the 10th hole would not be ready. Thanks Wookie for the awesome chainsaw work!

Played a round last night with my 9 year old son (ok, so he quit by hole 12), but hole 10 is going to be a nice addition! I like the fact that you can't actually see the basket from the tee, since it's just over the slight hill-dropoff. Nice work guys. Are you going to put a basket back on the next hole (the old 10?) Itee'd off from there and then realized there was no basket. LOL

Course looks better everytime I come out.

Well, I would've put that basket in already, but I really have a lot of other things to do out there to get ready for the tournament. Maybe someone who plays the course occasionally will help me and I'll get a lot more done.

KNOW ANYONE?

Luke, I wasn't complaining, just wondering. :) If I had the time in the next week, I would help for sure. I'm lucky to play once every two or three months, and that's after work during the week. I'm trying to change that, but it will be a while.

Like I said, the course looks great...

You're fine--and thanks, I'm proud of new 9 and 10. Where do you live? I'm curious because I don't know who all comes out to the course. Do you know of others who play the Monty?

The basket for old ten I dragged to new 10. I've got parts of other baskets but nothing put together. For the tournament we are borrowing a few of them (like for the trailer hole, where the grass isn't cut).

I'm in McDonough (Ola). When I do get to play, it's usually with a buddy also from Ola.

Feel encouraged to call when you come out. I can bring three baskets for the "Full Monty" and show off the newest hopeful holes.

Sounds good. I hope to get to where I can play more often.

Is the doubles tourney best disc or combined score?
