This will be a big tournament held at the beautiful Trace State Park, in Belden, MS (just outside of Tupelo).

This will be a PDGA B tier & a Souther Nationals qualifier, with 1 round on the regular course, and 2 rounds on the new Trace Gold course, which will be a Gold Level Par 68 designed to challenge gold level players - this tournament will be restricted to just 3 divisions:

Pro Women: $90
Advanced: $50

PDGA members get $10 off their entry fee.

The field will be capped at 90 players.

We are working hard to make this a huge event, showcasing one of Mississippi's best courses. It will be a B tier with A tier money.

No guarantees at this time, but we are working hard to raise a lot of money for this tournament in attempt to attract the best players in and around Mississippi and looking to put on a great event worth attending.

We are selling raffle tickets for a chance to win $1000 - each ticket costs $10 - see James Shook or me (Clayton Nash) at upcoming tournaments to benefit the Trace Open.

We are selling hole sponsors for $50.
For $200, we will also give you a hole sponsorship + your name/logo listed on our tournament website.
If you are interested in sponsoring $200 or more, please contact us through our website.

we decided to only offer the open division for pros

we wanted to make one big division, showcasing all of the best players in and around MS and put all of the added cash into the top pro division (including women)

as TDs, we are not making anything off of this tournament - we only want to put on a great event, showcasing the awesome course we've built in Tupelo and build for future tournaments - all added cash past expenses will be put back into the tournament

at this point, we are looking at 2k added cash and hopefully much more if the raffle tickets keep selling and we get more sponsorships

check out our Trace Gold layout at our website! Gold par 68 and it plays every bit of it

The Trace State Park employees do a great job of keeping this course gorgeous. You will not be disappointed by the fast and clean fairways, wonderful views and the variety of trees that line some of the fairways. The lake can be seen from every hole and can come into play on 10 of the holes. The wooded holes play up and down a hill with clear landing zones but, they will punish bad shots. Throwing more than 400' can help, but is not necessary to shooting well. Smart play, proper disc/throw selection, accurate shots, confident putting and patience are key to a solid round. We will be updating http://www.TraceOpen.com soon with photos and hole diagrams.

There are two courses at the park and they currently share baskets. Once money is raised for 9 more baskets both courses will be playable. Until, then the courses will be set up on a rotating basis. Currently, the Old Warrior Run course is set up for the Trace Open amateur tournament. On August 10 the baskets will be moved back to the Trace Gold course in preparation for the Pro tournament.
