Here's the printable flier:

http://www.atlantavizsla.org/PRIMOPLASTICINTERGALACTIC.pdf

On Line Registration:
http://www.soldiscsports.com/pd_primopl ... onship.cfm

The format will be 2 rounds with Intermediate players shooting from the Wade Selph layout and everyone else from the regular tees. Player's meeting at 9:00am and start at 10:00 am.

There will be lots of added extras to make this a fun tournament (including a spaceship). There will also be a guaranteed $1000(bottom line) added to the purse that will be split between the Pro and Am field.

Get your entry in! The field will only be for 72 players. Think of it, you could be the Intergalactic champion! Does it get any better?

There will be no players package this year. This means no money will be deducted from entry fees other than the standard PDGA fee. The rest of the entry fee will go straight to payout for ams and pros. Plus there will be at least $1000 added cash split between the am and pro field. It's looking like we will have much more than that to add at this point.

Keep those entries and sponsorships coming. Do it online (thank you Solstice) or mail it to me.

Woo Hoo! I'm in!
October is going to be an awesome month for disc golfers.

Grease,
As a virgin Intergalactic Primo Plastic Deer Licker, I'm curious if the
two meter rule will be enforced for the tourney? (assuming there are
trees at the park, never been there)

Darktoaster,

Depends on your skill level as where you should play. For your first tournament, Intermediate would probably be a good choice.

The Wade Selph layout refers to the shorter tees for each hole, So called because Wade is the one who set them up.

See ay in October!!

Everything is falling in to place very nicely! We have overwhelming response from the parks dept and they have much to add to this event! Only 24 spots left open. Get those entries in ASAP! Thanks a bunch to the sponsors so far. BTW, I will be getting Champion Destroyers next week as fundraisers for the PPIC. They will be $30 and will sport Dusty's wonderful artwork as seen on the pudding putters making their way around town. PM if you would like for me to pre-order one or twenty! Get them before I put them up on Ebay for $200 each!

There are 4 hotels along the access road off of twenty about
1.5 miles from Deerlick. Basically, if you are heading West
on I-20, when you exit onto Fairburn Rd (92) you make a
u-turn to the right onto Westmoreland Plaza. You will see the
string of hotels from I-20 with a Cracker Barrel (that name
offends my people) conveniently nestled in the midst of them.

Here's the contact info:

Days Inn - 770-949-1499
Comfort Inn - 678-504-2000
Super 8 - 770-9494926
Holiday Inn Express - 888-400-9714

I've figured out the payout so far and Open is $518 for first at this point. I need a general consensus for the am side though. Would you prefer a basket (Innova Sportcatcher) for first and a smaller voucher, or voucher for the full amount? Advanced winner is $248, Advanced Master $224, and Intermediate $175. So, would you rather pick out a ton of discs or have your prize be one huge item? I need to know so I can order them.

would the intergalatic sticker choices possibly include:

dragon tai co., ltd. - producer of the inflatable, paper and foam, and nylon frisbee?

xiamen joytie enterprises - maker of the foldable frisbee?

Speaking of McDonalds,

Will there be anybody or organization at the tourney who will be providing food? The closest place I saw to Deerlick to eat was a grocery store after I go off of the highway.

Word on the street is that there will be free lunch provided. I have yet to get a full confirmation from the park on that yet though. If you go north on 92 off of 20 there are tons of fast food places and a few slow food places. Also, right before you get to DL there is a sports bar called Bonez on the right. They have great burgers.

The PPIC format will be two rounds starting at 10:00 AM. Check in will start at 9:00 with the player's meeting at 9:30.

Out of Bounds (OB) -

Holes 1 & 2 - There will be a rope in the ditch dividing holes 1 and to. To the left of the rope is OB. Disc will be played from the last spot it was in bounds.

Hole 3 - The pond below and the paved road above hole 3 are OB. Tee shots that go in the pond will result in teeing from a drop zone (Wade Selph tee) plus a stroke.

Hole 4 & 5 - Completely surrounded by water in the creek will be OB. Disc will be played from the last spot it was in bounds.

Hole 6 - Left of the split rail fence is OB. There should be a rope along the ground to go by. Disc will be played from the last spot it was in bounds.

Hole 8 - The parking lot to the right and the road to the left are OB. Disc will be played from the last spot it was in bounds.

Hole 18 - The is a mando marker on a tree to the right of the fairway. You must stay to the left of this tree. Mising the mando will result in teeing from a drop zone (Wade Selph tee) plus a stroke.

The two meter rule will be in effect.

All above mentioned will be observed during the doubles Saturday.

Tourney central for Sat. dubs and the main event Sun. will be at the end of the parking lot for the skatepark and putt putt course. We will move the awards ceremony to an activity room in the rec. center. So basically, Sat. and Sun. morning, when you see the basket for hole 8 take a quick left.

Great tournament Greasy. Everything ran smooth. Payout was awesome. Congrats to all of the Intergalactic Champions and thanks to all of the people that worked hard to make Deerlick an awesome place to play disc golf. Congrats to DD Dave Douglas, resident of the Douglas Downs community located on Douglaston Rd in beautiful Douglasville which happens to be located in Douglas County. That's all I could think of.

The day reminded me of the last few lines in the classic Beastie Boys old time spiritual:

If you try to knock me you'll get mocked
I'll stir fry you in my wok
Your knees'll start shaking and your fingers pop
Like a pinch on the neck of Mr. Spock

Intergalactic planetary
Planetary intergalactic
Another dimension do it

Thanks Grease and all of the Deer Lickers for running a great event and putting in the hours to build the course.

thanks douglas co. parks and rec. dept., the deerlick disc golf bod, staff, members, associates, volunteers and especially to the inimitable and esteemed fearless leader, TD Grease, for a primo tourney.
superb course, over-the-top payouts 'n prizes and one rada$$ spaceship!

to repeat, fellow ADGO board disc golf enthusiasts, get yourselves some of this action. a deceptive, relatively easy looking layout that'll leave you screaming to shoot par.

and team deerlick, please consider leaving hole 3's pin in the tourney position. roll the dice and throw the disc; gonna' 3 it or double circle 6 it? (did matlack hit his putt on the ctp throw?)

superlative work and execution this past weekend, y'all.
many thanks again.

I left my green star destroyer in the middle of hole 16's fairway before the 1st round. If anyone picked it up please send me a PM.

Thanks,

Wait a minute. The Verminator won Intermediate? Where did they throw from - the ladies tees? How many strokes did you get each round Vern? Intergalactic Champ - it should be ICB for Intergalactic Champion Bagger!

Hmmmm - just checked the Squirrelfest registered players list. Scott must have put you in the wrong division. :D Karen is going to kick your butt. :D

I am announcing my official retirement from the Intermediate Division !! 3 wins is enough 8)

For your first tournament, Intermediate would probably be a good choice.
The Wade Selph layout refers to the shorter tees for each hole, so called because Wade is the one who set them up.

If it wasn't for the pros bagging advanced masters, Mike H. would have won his division. Nice win Mike H.!!
