Any interest in playing in a Southern Nationals Qualifier?

Postby K-Mack » Wed Feb 25, 2009 1:55 pm

It just hit me that I haven't qualified for the Southern Nationals this year and was looking for a qualifier in Georgia and there isn't one. The closest one is nearly 5 hours away.

So I am posing the question to y'alls, is there anyone else that would want to play in a Southern Nats qualifier this year to be eligible to play in the finals Labor Day weekend in Little Rock Arkansas? Or perhaps just want to play in a 1 day sanctioned event down on the southside of the ATL?

I would be willing to throw one together as a small (low entry) 1 day C-Tier (probably here on the Southside). But if there is no interest I would probably just bite the bullet and make the haul to one of the events in MS. It would have to be before May 31st to qualify for this years final.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

I submitted a couple of date possibilities to Keith.

I haven't ran event since the '06 Am Worlds and I am ready to come out of retirement. :o I will give you a quick taste of how it would go.

It will probably be in Meriweather County.....Probably close to old the Ant Farm, Ole Cousin Larry ;) has a couple of old buddies in the neighborhood that would be willing to host.

It would be low entry fee for around $25 AM to $40 Pro (approx.) with lunch provided (included with your entry) from Courtney's cafe, The FoxxDen delivered to the site. Am's get a players pack of a disc (hopefully the new Innova DART) and some other swag.

It will be one of your last chances to qualify for Southern Nats (Deadline is May 31st) Once I get the A-OK from Keith and the PDGA I will bust out all the details, but just wanted to throw the idea up against the wall and see if it would stick and it seems to be somewhat sticky so if I get the OK I will get to work ;)

Meriweather? Don't tease us. You know we get a bit misty when Meriweather is mentioned.
Fart, it's never not funny!

4/11 is Easter weekend Saturday, so it could work
4/18 weekend has nothing scheduled
5/23 is Memorial Day weekend Saturday, and several people will be out of town at the Virginia Open.

Let me know what you think.

Sanctioning agreement has been sent to the PDGA, I also sent my date confirmation to SNDG. I will be meeting with Larry today or tomorrow and hopefully we will have the location nailed down by the weekend.

It's most likely going to be on private property, or at Lake Meriwether.

Looking forward to it. I will start a new thread for the FrizzBeeCafe Open on the tournament forum as soon as I have the flyer available.

I can not wait for this to happen. K-mack check you PM's. I know it is not in Meriwether county but in that area I would vote for the 2 courses in Whitesburg :D . What courses are being looked at?
