IDGC "First Saturday" Monthly PDGA C-Tier 06 DEC 08

Postby Ridesbrd » Tue Dec 02, 2008 3:13 pm

This will be the final monthly of the year, so if you have competed in one or two events you may still be in the race.

The series standings can be found on this page: http://www.pdga.com/IDGC/events

We will start registration at 9am with tee off at 10am, on the Steady Ed all short par 60 layout.

Following a short lunch we will be playing the Jim Warner Memorial course, hopefully getting finished before dark.

Early registration can be found here: http://www.pdgasignup.com/Qstore/Qstore ... 1212383901

Next year we will be going to 6 events, one every other month, starting in Feburary. I also will NOT be sticking with the first Saturday of the month, instead trying to place events between other historic/scheduled dates.

I also have a rough payout figure if you need to know where you stand email me.

Any question's please let me know!

The word on the street is that some dude broke his leg at this tournament this weekend. Broke it in two placed while teeing off on his first hole. What happened?

Not quite sure on all the details, but he (leaving name out) broke his left ankle in two places, on the first tee of the Jim Warner course. It was weird that it wasn't his plant foot, but i guess his run up was off and he stumbled and fell. The #1 tee pad is pretty flat and in pretty good shape for a natural tee.

It was during warm ups/sign ups but we were able to take care of him (splint, ice, and treat for possible shock), get him to the hospital and start on time! We had 1 EMT, 1 WEMT, and a previous nurse take him to the hospital, he received good care and an excellent innovative splinting job using next tee signs :).

What did he shoot the second round since he probably had to take all 7's the first?

Not sure what you mean he withdrew before the tournament even started, this happened during warmups/signups.
