Charleston Classic 6-7 December

Postby Mike D » Mon Oct 13, 2008 12:37 pm

For those of you who do not get the e-mails from the SC guys, there is a link to the flyer for this tournament here.... http://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/charlestondiscgolf/

Those who have played this event can tell you what a great course this is. If you want to play this course you can ONLY do it during this tournament. It is a temp set-up for this weekend only.

Think 100 year old trees with spanish moss on them.

If you want to play, sign up early, this tournament ALWAYS selles out fast!!

Yeah.... But this is a PDGA sanctioned event for those looking for something a little different.

If you do not want to travel, I say by all means go to the Cold Snake!! It is a awesome tournament and should also fill up!

However if you want to check out an awesome temp course, check out the Charleston tournament.

Mike is telling ya'll right; this is one of the best tournaments of the year by far. My check is already in the mail box and I just saw this thread this morning. This one makes the other tournament a limp snake. :D

Seriously - the Charlseton Classic is awesome. The park and course are beautiful and the weather is usually great. (And fresh seafood as well.)
There is also online signup - get in quick, this one will fill fast.

Dollar,

They have used Trophy Lakes in the past, but in my opinion it is not as good of a tournament when they use that park.

4 rounds at Hampton Park is AWESOME!!

Get on the waitlist if you really want to go. Usually people sign-up so early and their plans change and have to cancel.

I am counting the days as this is one of my favorite courses to play.

I've heard great things about this tournament.

Dollar, I would skip it and wait until the following weekend. The Tupelo Bay Open will be in Myrtle Beach. They shut down the ball golf course and setup baskets. You get to use golf carts which is great. Last year all of the greens played OB and I've heard that the sand traps will be OB. I'll never miss this tournament again. Vern and I went last year and it was awesome. Also, the Viking Inn has rooms for $39 that will sleep 8 people comfortably.

Dollar - The Mrytle Beach Course is the bomb and you also get to drive around in carts!!! Plus you get the beach and a ton of hotel choices at a low rate right on the beach. Overall it about the same drive as Charleston - 5.5 hours. Never played Charleston but have been there a few times. I would take the beaches of Myrtle over Charleston on most days. Let me know if you need info. I know Surfside (Course Area) and South Myrtle pretty well. Same goes for anybody.

You should like it. They really cater to the PRO's...Can you say Road Trip?? 8)
