Augusta Classic

Postby richardhead » Fri Jul 18, 2008 8:29 am

I noticed the tournament listed on the PDGA site. When you go to the link there's not any information on this tournament. Can somebody affiliated with that club post a flyer and any other pertinent information on here. I know it's still 2 months away, but I assume this thing will fill up since it's an A-Tier. I'd like to get a check moving.

The Augusta Classic gears are rolling and it will be at the IDGC this year.

We should have registration up soon, I will talk to Brian about it when he gets back from Sweden next week.

Shouldn't have to worry about it filling up as i think we can take 144 players but don't quote me on that.

That's 72 x 2 courses = 5somes SUCK!

More info coming soon........

Thanks for the info. I'll be playing this one fo sho. How's the lake looking these days. Are you still throwing over water on the short course (can't remember the name)? I haven't been back since the Hall of Fame tourney.

Water, what water is there supposed to be a lake here?

Yea its really low, it is interesting that Lake Elberton is at full pool and just down stream we are way too low.

For the Augusta Classic we will most likely have OB rope up where the water levels should be.

Good call on the rope. I can't remember the hole#, but the one that plays down hill to a basket on a peninsula is one of the best holes I've played. I guess it had a lefty/flick route, but I prefer the righty hyzer bomb.

You must not have any mussels to save. There's no reason for Lake Elberton to release millions of gallons a day to save a dying breed.

I took this opportunity to slam the army corp of engineers for making stupid decisions concerning lake lanier>

When did you decide against involving Pendleton King? I heard people say that PK would be undergoing a redesign in order to accomadate a big event later this year.

PK's new layout will not be done in time for the tournament. As of now the course is incomplete i think its like 16 holes if my memory is right and we have ALOT of work in the redesign to accomplish. It is going to go further back into the woods and is going to require numerous holes cleared, similar to hole 18.

Also BG is running this event and suggested to the club that it should now be run at the IDGC since there is only 1 complete course in Augusta proper (LakeO). IDGC provides better opportunity and ease of running an event, the amenities are already here and he has me to get the courses in shape.

:P :P :P i love the IDGC! :P :P :P

i know some people were looking foward to PK, LO, RV. i love all of those courses, but having the IDGC there for backup is perfect. All the tournaments that are run there are top notch. its also nice to have both courses on the same property, easier to practice.

now we get to look foward to Atiers at GAs best permanent courses as well as our best temp course!

Thanks Dollar! Way to fluff the IDGC and staff 8)

Its hard to beat a full stocked pro shop for Am's to choose prizes from, air conditioned building, nice bathrooms and best of all CAMPING right in the park!!!

If you want to play the other courses in town i suggest the Top Gun series that the ADGA does a great job of running the last couple of years. These events showcase all of the Augusta courses with one day C-tier events thoughout the year!

What are you referring to? Where is that 'Major'?
