I hope this event does sell out. Even if you dont win, you should be there to support and help raise the money to send a rep from GA. We need more people from GA at the USDGC.

Anyone can signup no matter their "division", but I can't imagine too many people that want to just give away 20 bucks with NO shot at winning.

Anyone that is the person winning CAN NOT sell their spot, they either accept or it goes to next in line.

If the winner can't / doesn't want the spot, it will go to the next place, but then again I can't see why anyone would enter the event, play 2 rounds , win and then say, it was just "for fun", go ahead and give it to the next guy in line.

Could be that we want to play a killer layout and support whoever our GA rep is. I'll be donating my 20 bucks and have a blast doing it - hope some other AMs will too w/ risk/reward on almost every hole.

Keith - you may want to check the length on hole 4 - I think that 350' is from the red tees and I think that you are playing the blue - I think the blues are closer to 400'.

Bob you may want to read the hole by hole layout, as I'm using the red tee.

I've used the red tee at every event there because it gives better score separation with less hill climbing, and I don't believe in long just for long sake.
I do like the blue tee also, but not for event play.

Well I'm still in one piece after my operation to most people's dismay, so I'll let anyone know that may wish to help, that I'll be clearing the fairways and walking path for the 2 holes by the Gym next weekend if anyone wishes to bring along a weedeater. (only minor stuff involved on the slope)
I'll post the day and time when I know.

See everyone in 13 days for the USDGC QUALIFIER for the state of GEORGIA!
Tell anyone who may be interested, and might not be a message board hound, so that no one that wishes to play gets left out!

From the PDGA message board about our event posted on MAY 13th by Joe Wander from DISC GOLF LIVE!

A quick scan shows OB on nearly every hole, Keith. Didn't buy enough rope, eh? Sounds like a good test for anyone heading to Rock Hill.

I think this is a great format for a qualifying event. If any of your peeps want to capture some video (and perhaps put together a story), this might make a nice "Road to Rock Hill" piece for a show this autumn. I think folks in your state will find an expenses-paid trip to the Championship something worth shooting for. Kick the idea around with folks if you get a chance.

Of the various ways state qualifying spots are alloted, I think this is probably the best I've heard. Simple, straight-forward, self-funding. I'd throw a few bucks into the tip jar for the TD if I came to play or spectate. Sounds like a lot of setting up.

JORDAN NELSON (BRIM) will be filming the ENTIRE event, from start to finish to be shown on DISC GOLF LIVE! which is shown nationwide on local access and cable stations, as well as available for purchase.

We will have release forms for when you check-in to sign, and if you do NOT wished to be filmed, PLEASE say so as Jordan will not film anyone who does not wish to be filmed.

A BIG THANKS AGAIN to Jordan for his generous offer and please remember, no Keith-like tantrums on film please.

Let's make sure the World sees the talent in this state, as the winner heads "On the road to the USDGC"

Sorry for the late notice, but just found out which day would be free today.

Sunday at 2PM before doubles at 4PM at Central.

Weedeater work should take less than 1/2 an hour with 2 people.
The rest of the prep I need to do on my own , so if you don't wish to make it out, or are not going already to play doubles, it's not really a problem.
Thanks to Jay(the other wounded old guy) for offering to help, but after spending all day out in the 100 degree heat index temps at the "C",
I don't want him to get out again for 1/2 hour worth of work(unless of course, he's a glutton for punishment.)

See everyone else on the 14th at Central!
Remember check-in is from 8:30-9:15 ONLY and will close at that time.
(part of getting you ready for the USDGC is to make sure you understand tee time accountability)

All of the Permanent baskets to be used (2 temps) are in place, EXCEPT hole 16 (original 18 ) which will be on the hilltop. The sleeve will only let the basket about a foot in the ground, but Terry Lynch will try to fix it during the week. If it can't be fixed we will still use it in the upper spot as it will actually simulate the elevated baskets at the USDGC on holes 9 & 10.

See everyone this SATURDAY the 14th at Central!

Leyva, Rookie, Hammock, Childs I think was the order. I know that Craig won and he shot 53/58 with a par of 61. Rookie shot 55/58. Not sure on anyone else...

Congrats to Craig Leyva for being the Representative from the state of Georgia at this years USDGC!
Entry paid for and $290 cash money to help with expenses also.
When I see Craig again, I owe him the $20 from RYAN RENZ, who donated without even playing, I forgot to include it in the total.

Thanks to all who came out!

Keith

Hole 2 (original 5 blue) had only (1) 2 with the Mando, and it was by Craig (a lefty)
