Unity Summit Open March 15th-16th IDGC CAMPOUT!!!!! Ctier+SN

Postby Ridesbrd » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:57 am

Addie and I are hosting the Unity Summit here at the IDGC this march. It will be a PDGA C- tier event as well as a Southern Nationals Championship Qualifier.

This is a great opportunity to get some SN points if your are hoping to attend one of the three championships.

We will have camping available and it is recommended!!

On Saturday there will be two rounds followed by a cookout, 18 holes of mini golf, putting contests, Open Forum discussion with the PDGA, and GLOW GOLF!!!!!

Sunday we will play one round followed by awards.

This will be the first ever IDGC campout with what is going to be a great mini golf course, and fun Glow Round.

We will have more info posted on www.discgolfseries.com and online registration as well as mail in.

Camping Details!

Postby Ridesbrd » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:18 pm

Camp sites has been finalized and are available though Columbia County Parks and Rec. They are $18 a night per site and you can have up to two tents on one site. We have reserved Area 2 sites 36,39,and 51; also Area 3 sites 52, 55-59, and 61.

The area 3 sites will pretty much be all together and they are all the closest sites we could get to the IDGC. You can reserve one of these sites by calling 706-541-0586 between 7am-11am and 1pm-5pm.

Thanks!!!

Did y'all ever put up that little mini 6 hole course back up near the old NDGC building?

No, it was a temporary course used before we got the other courses done.

You can also bring baskets and set up a couple of the holes as they are right by our camping area.

I am thinking about trying to put the 18 hole mini course in that area for the tournament, but i may need to keep it closer to the IDGC.

I liked that course. Obviously, the new courses are great and all but that was a fun one to play with just a putter and it was right near the beach area.
Can people that aren't otherwise playing in the tournmant come out for the glow golf later? I know some people that might want to do that.

The County has now given us all of area 3 its about 10-12 sites, most are already reserved. If you want to be where the action is i suggest reserving one of these sites now. Otherwise once this area fills they will start putting people in area 2 which is down the road a piece.

Unity Update

Postby Ridesbrd » Tue Mar 11, 2008 10:28 am

We will be playing 2 rounds on the Steady Ed Saturday, and One round on the WR Jackson Sunday. This will give us plenty of time and energy for all the fun thats happening Saturday night.

Current Registration can be viewed here: http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tourname ... urnID=7373

Update from Addie:

Columbia County Parks Department is sponsoring the players' dinner Saturday night!

Barbecue Pork
Barbecue Chicken
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Cole Slaw
Chips
Bread
Peach Cobbler

ALL YOU CAN EAT...until it's gone that is. They always bring so much food. It's awesome!

The dinner is free for competitors. All others, the cost is $9 and you must pay by tee off of round one.

If you are getting into town Friday, please head over to the IDGC to register/check-in. We should be here until at least 7:00PM but feel free to check later as well as we will likely be just hanging out. We have a commons room which is a fun place to watch a variety of Disc Golf DVDs from our library/archives ...not to mention strolling down memory lane in the Ed Headrick Museum!

Players packs for all AMs -- 2007 Course Directory, DGWN mag, stickers, voucher for IDGC Pro Shop

Looking forward to a fun weekend and a reunion as well! All of the Unity Summit campsites are reserved now so you know it'll be a good time. There are still campsites available but just not in the disc golf section.

Wherever you play this weekend be safe traveling and shoot well!

Take care,
~Addie "A" Game
