A lot of people helped in many ways. First off, thanks to John for helping design the course, directing the tournament, and for teaching me many things. He has set us up for future tournaments and I couldn't have asked for a better person to learn from. THANKS to JOHN!
Also, we had about 7 first time tourney players and 6 states represented. (TN, SC, Oregon, NC, SC, and GA) Thanks to Vern Williams for helping get the word out to the TN players and for donating CTPs. Thanks for a good Athens showing.
Thanks to Jim Simpson for playing, covering the tournament, and for writing the newspaper article for the local paper.
Thanks to all people that helped with scoring, especially Brett Porter and Mr. Barry Arnson.
Thanks to all people that donated CTPs along with Vern...Fred Williams, Lee Minehart, Justin Romito, Innova (donated 18 DX second round) and the others I didn't know about...
OK, I could keep going, so I'll stop. Basically, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off and a lot of people stepped up and helped! I'm carefully looking at everything from this weekend and slowly learning many new things so that the next Meeks Tournament will be even better. So hold tight...you probably won't see scores until Wednesday.... Unless you were first place, get out and practice, stop analyzing your ratings, and get off this message board...the weather is nice and you have more daylight.
Thanks for letting me help! If any of you have any concerns, please let me know by PM.
