Just had a call from Joel St. Vrain, our liaison with the RRPD, to tell me that the folks responsible for the extension of the sewer line for the new library dropped off bulldozers yesterday and today started blasting through the area from the street through Hole 4, the tee area for 6, and the fairway of 5 before the parks staff could get in touch with the construction project management firm and get them stopped. The RRPD got no notice that the work was beginning today either and are livid about it -- they had kids from the camps in the area, etc. Mark Holder should be in the loop on what's happening going forward.
We'll do everything we can to find out what's up and how we can work with the construction firms to mitigate impact to the course. For now, please exercise caution and discretion in that part of the course -- if you have any doubt about safety or if there's any active work going on in an area, skip it.
Will post more when we know more. Camp is still on for next Monday-Wednesday, and we'll figure out what if anything needs to change before DarnTree Doubles.
