This is a "C" tier. The PDGA has it currently listed as a B. I have notified them.

The Pro-Am is coming along. We have about 20 registered. There will be a motherlode hole for a $3 buy-in.It is already valued at $200+. The hole will be #15 and will stay for both rounds. The second round we will have a card CTP. The custom discs will have a picture of Toccoa Falls on them. These will be available to all ams in their player packs. We will play 1 round from each set of tees. So you'll get to play the original Toccoa set-up and the longest layout. Last year this event filled up at 120 players.
I will be uploading the player list in a week or two. Till then, see you all soon - John

The Hula Hoop became so ubiquitous that the former Soviet Union banned the toy as a symbol of the "emptiness of American culture."

I want in but do you think mailing in the entry fee is wise at this point?

We are taking 120 players. I personally don't believe that we will fill this year. I would be here by 8 am. sharp on Saturday though, just to be sure. - John

John - I guess I will just take my chances and head up on Saturday morning early - if there is any way you could 'reserve' me a spot - do it. I understand if not...

Bring your x-tra cash. There will be a card ctp on round 2 that is not a buy-in. The other CTP's will be the Motherlode hole on #15. It is a $3 buy-in and is valued at $300 +. It is an entertainment package featuring a TV-VCR combo with movies and some comics. We will also have a $5 buy-in
for the Jim Warner Fund and will feature 3 holes. The holes will be #2-7-17 and will stay for both rounds. There will be a $2 Ace Pool. So, if my math is right, $10 will get you in on all the side action. Anyone interested in Friday doubles should be here around 6pm. I won't be there, but there is some interset. Show up and see what happens. Those of you trying to get in day of , I would be here by 8am. Later- John

An update on the CTP's. There will now be (2) card ctp's during the second round and we also got a couple of Renaissance Festival tickets on the Motherlode hole with some plastic. I am signing out for the day. I got to go work on the course. See you all tomorrow. - John

The Pro Masters can again thank my last 6 hole collapse from 2nd (1 stroke behind Brett) with 7 holes to go dropping me to 6th and out of the cash completely (usually I drop into a tie for last cash ) going from 4 down to 4 over with seven holes to play, including 4 OB strokes in the last 4 holes. Loved the 2 courses, as they are a good complement to each other. If I ever learn to finish off a round, (4 over in the last 6 holes in round 1 also ) I could be a good golfer.

Keith

Jordy, Woody and Dave Kenney are my latest benefactors.
This time with a 2 stroke lead after 34 holes with 10 to go before giving up 5 strokes, but still in second 1 behind Jordy with 3 holes to go, before 4 putting hole #1 from 36 feet, bottom of hill, 4 feet away that cut thru chains, before drop in 5 to put myself into first loser spot for the second week in a row.

I officially suck!

The results are up. Thanks for the participation. See most of you again at the Georgia States in August. Congrats to Josh Childs for the course record -17 on the short course and to Keith Johnson for the Ace on #9 and Jordan Nelson for the Ace on #7. How about Joseph Woodall's 901 rated round. Not bad for an 11 year old. - John

The tournament was a lot of fun and great experience builder. Watch out for Joseph that boy has game!! I played round 2 with him and another young star named Ben... Just goes to show the importance of proper fundamentals. Hope Josh is proud of his little bro....

Thanks Toccoa Golfers for Supporting the JW Fund!!

Postby Gator » Tue Apr 29, 2008 11:16 am

Thanks to all that contributed to the Jim Warner Fund CTP's this past weekend in Toccoa. We raised another $280.00 for the fund, which now stands at $2,800(just $2,200 from our goal of $5,000). Once raised, this 5K is to be matched by Jim's mother-Dorothy Wentz- giving us the 10 K needed to complete our donation(we gave 15K last year when the IDGC opened).
Thanks especially to John and Vicki Nisewonder who ran the tournament. Over the past 2 years- Toccoa tournies have contributed about $1,500 towards the fund!
Look for more chances to win prizes/contribute to the JW Fund at local tournies.
Thanks Again Nisewonders and supporting Golfers!!
