I've got a first run champion katana, and it flies like a more understable boss. It's become my favorite tailwind driver. I usually dont use it too much with any significant head or cross winds. Not sure how the star plastic compares, but I highly recommend the Katana

I throw the Pro Katanas like Keith has available. I'm a finesse thrower. The pro Katanas are not Wraith like and are different from the Champion Katanas. More like a sidewinder on steroids for me. I'm more comfortable with the Pro Katana than a sidewinder or lightweight R-Pro Boss. They have a lot of glide but would probably get flippy or whatever you big arm, over torque grippers like to call it.

Matthew and Chris Millay are correct in their posts about what these discs are designed to do.
They work best in a tailwind or slight crosswind when thrown smooth, they are a good turnover disc when thrown with speed, and a roller disc if thrown with a LOT of speed into a headwind.

They are a PERFECT fit for someone who throws flippy hyzer like me though, as I don't have to break them in - they are ready to go right out of the box!

Why would you expect a tirade?
Maybe it's the way you assume things?

All the pins except 13, 14, and 15 are in their Event positions.

13, 14 and 15 will be set morning of as there are not permanent sleeves for those spots.
13 will be roughly 75 feet to the right of where it is now between the tree and fence. (you can see the dug up dirt spot)
14 is roughly 30 feet closer to the tee area (further from the creek) (you can see a yellow paint cap)
15 is roughly 35 feet towards the right and on the slope, and tee area will be on the dam even with the fishing pavilion closest to the basket. (you can see the dug up dirt spot)

Hey Keith, after playing WO several times I have been wondering why you made hole 8 a par four when hole 3 is virtually the same. I would be willing to bet that no one gets to within 30 feet of 3's basket. The tee shot is uphill so it plays longer than 470'. After driving on both holes several times I had no putt but a short approach w/ a easy drop in three. It must be the putting zone for 8 being perched on the top of the hill. Lowest score wins so all in all it doesn't matter but just wondering.

I just arrived home and wasn't able to get on the site at work since I was actually WORKING.

It took me almost 1 hour for a normal 15 minute drive home from work.

I'll say this with the assumption that the park will be ok with being able to give us at least 1 of the 2 pavilions for that date - and I won't be able to find that out until TUESDAY as Monday is a holiday - if not I'll reschedule it for later in the year.

Woody - I'm honestly getting quite tired of your assumptions about tirades and answering for me WITHOUT ASKING me if it's ok.

I know how you are, but alot of people that read what you write look at it and think that's how it is - when in reality I treat EVERY single situatuion differently and respond according to THAT particular situation.

This snow Event was supposed to happen early in the day and be done by noon-2PM and was not going NORTH of I-20 (WHITE OAK was in the clear) when I made that post about it snowing Friday and being SUNNY for SAT - obviously things went different than the weather people predicted so that means postponement.
SUNDAY doesn't work as it is supposed to snow again Sunday - as well as I learned my VDAY lesson after the gods cursed me with 2 flat tires leaving the CRUCIBLE last VDAY less than 2 miles from the course.

Postponing until 11 AM doesn't work - because I won't as well as lots of others won't be able to get out of their developments.

I just arrived home and wasn't able to get on the site at work since I was actually WORKING.

It took me almost 1 hour for a normal 15 minute drive home from work.

EVENT # 1 POSTONED UNTIL NEXT SATURDAY 2/20 !!!

I'll say this with the assumption that the park will be ok with being able to give us at least 1 of the 2 pavilions for that date - and I won't be able to find that out until TUESDAY as Monday is a holiday - if not I'll reschedule it for later in the year.

Anyone than cannot make it for NEXT SATURDAY 2/20 who has ALREADY PAID please PM me to work out solutions - I WILL NOT post answers to anyone posting about it here - It needs to be in PM so I can save them and print them out.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had any kind of good insight to the growth here or maybe even a touring pro or anything like that (Store owner, course designer, etc...). If possible, I'd like to do an interview (I was planning on asking some people at the White Oak tournament tomorrow and the event got postponed) it appears as though with the deadline (Wednesday) I'm looking at, I'm gonna have to do an email interview. Mike Dammes has just spoken to the park and we are good to go - although there is another group that will be there from 12-7PM and we need to be kind to that group.

So this is a good time to remind everyone to please be considerate when parking and not take up extra space, as well as to hang out and get lunch from John Inman so you won't lose your parking space. We may have to switch pavilions after the first round as the group has the larger one booked at this time. Either way - we'll have a good time playing Disc Golf at White Oak!

This may sound like a stupid question, but it's got good intentions.

where should we park to allow the group the best access to the pavillion? Like at the playground or further out if need be?

The large one, but not until noon - You can park anywhere up there - BUT NOT ON THE GRASS areas up top. Just don't park crooked or with larger gaps between cars and it shouldn't be a problem - there is also parking down below by the playground down below hole 1 bakset and across the path from Hole 2 's tee where the other group most likely will end up parking - or golfers that leave might have to park, but it is a very short walk up the hill to the pavilions and bathroom.

With the temps expected near 60 there might be some more fishermen than if it was in the 30's, but I'll have the dam roped off so there will not be anyone parking on it.

It has already had 34(really) changes made to it in the past 2 weeks - and as fast as I print new labels for the scorecards in this last week, the people drop out - so to save time, ink and labels - All other changes will come day of.

The weather will be great and the course should be pretty dried out with fewer muddy areas, so whoever is there will get a great Event with GREAT payouts, and the rest of you will have missed the first GSSS Event of 2010.

BOTH POOLS Tee straight ahead to basket near creek. Fence on right is O.B.
In or beyond MAIN creek is O.B. Small drainage creeks on left side of fairway and next to basket are CASUAL WATER.
OB line is marked with string where drainage creek meets main creek.
Next tee - Cross creek and walk up roadway to tee areas near fishing pavilions. POOL 1 Tees from flags at pavilion, POOL 2 tees from flags 90 feet ahead.

I am bummed to be missing this event. My new job, which is otherwise great, has a tournament unfriendly schedule. I work from 6pm Friday to 6am Saturday, then again from 6pm Saturday to 6am Sunday. Drop a DG tournament in the middle and that'd be a long day. Hopefully I'll be moving to a shift earlier in the week soon.

Thanks to EVERYONE who came out and played and even with selling out and being filled 9(NINE) times and then getting moved back a week, we still went off today and played in 60 degree temps with only 1 short of a full field!

Congrats to Dale Hatcher for acing Hole 1, and Justin drage for acing Hole 18 splitting the $84 ace fund.

$160 in 50/50 Raflle tickets were sold raising $80 for EDGE and also giving $80 and an EDGE CFR Destroyer to Darren Schatz when Lorelei drew his ticket.

Congrats to all the winners -Phil Arthur (the only person to shoot under 50 both rounds) wins by 4 in OPEN and pockets $550 and Justin Drage having the hot round of the day - a 45 in the second round which also had his ace to come from behind and end up in second!

There won't be ratings for REC until they are official as the wasn't enough CURRENT PDGA Members with a rating over 800 to be proagators, but when the ratings are official, they will show up at that time, as they will take the 2 rounds for everyone which will give enough "gators" to give everyone in REC ratings.

Ratins are based on the scores EVERYONE that played the same pads shot - first round alot of low scores - second round less low scores - if not for Drage's 45 (-11) the second round ratings would have been higher still.
