Randgolf wrote:HELP ME OUT! I am trying to put together an above average payout for an Atier. Some of you guys that win money weekly need to step up and sponsor a hole, I think Keith would agree with me here. I need all the help I can get to pull this AO off. If you can't sponsor a hole get out to a course and do some work. Your money for a hole sponsorship will get you $50 worth of disc golf stuff. Your hard work on a course will contribute to the betterment of the tournament and course of your choice.
I am not singling anyone one person out. If you play in most or many of the local events yet never sponsor one, ask yourself, ' what am I doing to make this hometown event better'? It seems like some people just like to sit back and critically review what tournament directors do. Pry your fingers off your keyboard and help somebody out. Running any tournament is no easy task, especially these days. Running a huge event is like working a part time job for five months, just ask Keith, G-reg, Ritger, Gerrit, Daniel (HOTLANTA TD OF PAST), Nisewonder, etc. We need help! Again, if you can't throw in $ get to the course(s) and figure out how you can better things (obviously without altering the layout )
Some of you work hard with the ADGO, local courses, TDing events, etc. This "Call to Mobilize" doesn't pertain to you. If this hit a cord of conviction with you do something. I am not saying that you should just help out the AO help Keith pull of his huge venture with the GSSS. Do anything that might better disc golf in your city. It is funny how some people, especially some touring pros, think that all disc golf events should be as quality as the USDGC. TDs have jobs, lives, families, bills to name a few things. Running an event for the PDGA and its players is not just an effort to serve the money winners, but is also an effort to grow the sport through exposing the great game of disc golf. Are we players of integrity? Or are we sitting back with a critical review for others to manage?
DISCS ARE IN!!!!!!
AO 2010 Stamp. Rand has lots of discs to select from. Want one? Contact Rand for sponsorship opportunities. All discs are hot-stamped, but the full color art may go on a shirt or something TBD. Better weather for AO 2010 is in the forecast. Looks like it will be party cloudy with steady 12mph winds gusting to 20mph.

Way ahead of you on that.atl scott wrote:Now get back to bugging Keith about getting on the wait list for some future tourney.

This has to be a good thing for the future of Atlanta disc golf.
$Dollar$ wrote:FYI, I know of at least one World Champ that played their first round of USDGC with an under 900 player (that got in off something other than winning the spot in competition.) That whole group had to watch his 100+ shots. This kills the flow of the tournament. (It took my group 63 minutes to get from hole 4's basket to hole 5s basket.) Anyway, the WC shoots 11, 12, and 13 shots better the next 3 rounds when playing with competitors.
Sure, it's nice to give something to people who do lots for the sport. I am all for that, but this tournament should be for serious competitors. Our state is allotted one spot for someone to Represent US in the toughest disc golf competition in the world. Giving it to someone who cannot compete on this level is AWFUL SAUCE. There's an US AM Championship too.

I don't know about you, but I plan on being nowhere near ERP at 10PM - by then I'll be making my last pass thru the flymart at the Hilton Garden Inn!

There will be a lot of kids around and a bunch of grumpy old karate masters - so please watch your language around the rec center and conduct yourself with a modicum of comportment (as you should at any event). Thanks for your consideration in advance
