PAM B CHILDS MEMORIAL - NOV 21

Postby BATMAN11348 » Fri Oct 23, 2009 8:45 am

2nd Annual Pam B Childs Memorial Disc Golf Tournament will be held at the International Disc Golf Center in Willwood Park Nov 21 ,2009. This year and hopefully years to come it will be in benefit of the Ronald McDonald House of Augusta. My family found out 1st hand how great it is to have a place like this to turn to in times of need during Collin's last surgery. They provided a clean safe haven away from home and a place to get away from the hospital to eat and rest during trying times with little or no cost the family. Since it is getting close to Christmas and there will be families there away from home, we will be having a toy drive for for the children and their siblings who may not be able to have a Christmas. Players are asked to bring a new unopened toy or a $10 donation to be given to RMDH as they need both. Spectators are welcome and may bring toys too.:-)
As this is a charity event it is still a Disc Golf Tournament so I am seeking sponsorship for the event. If you or your company would like to help there are many ways to do so. If you would like to sponsor a tee sign in memory of someone or your company the cost is $20. I am also in need of prizes to give out to players it can be in the form of gift cert. merchandise ,etc... I will also be trying to feed the players who will come to support the tournament any food or drinks would help . Anyone who would like more info please email me BATTY8662@MSN.COM or call me at 706-513-5610. Thank you for your time Paul Batman Childs

My back started aching around Lake Russell but it just progressively got worse, until finally last week I was stuck, and I couldn't move at all. When I looked in the mirror I was looking more like the Huntchback of Notre Dame so I went to the Chiropractor (<---which I think is Latin or something for Snake Oil Salesman) and he F'd me up worse, well the joke is on him cuz I just landed a lead role on Sesame Street as the letter of the day the S.

We will be playing 1 round on Steedy Ed and 1 round of the front 9 on Jackson and front 9 of Warner to mix it up a little and also play some of all 3 courses. This is 1st time to utilize the fact that the 9 holes start and end at clubhouse. This is a chance to set the course record for this configuration who will it be??? KMac, Dollar, Brad,Vach,or maybe Josh??? This will be a par 66 layout how low can you go???? Who sets it and what will score be guess right, be at tournament and you just might win a prize.

right now, steady ed course is closed, the Army Corp is predicting another foot rise over the next 24 hours then slowly dropping though out the week. Full pool is at 330, and we are sitting around 333 right now, predicted to be 331ish by next weekend.

That should make the course playable for the tournament but with some nasty OB out there!

I hope we get a good turn out this weekend. I know Josh and Batman have worked hard on this tourny. Plus its for a really good cause. On another note, it seems we will get to play parts of the courses with the water (ob) well higher than it has been in a few years. Should be a lot of fun.

The water seems to be going down but will come into play on the water holes. Hole 5 on Ed course ob will be water not flags now that there is water in the cove. There will be plenty of food and drinks CTP;s and fun for all. Still do not have any guess's on who will set the course record for front on jackson and warner course and what score will it be and who guess right and get a suprise.

The Lake is now back down to a playable level, although still about a foot above full pool. Went out today and cleared some new shoreline debris, and cleaned up some of the trash left behind. If you havent played the courses at full pool you will be in for a surprise, and some hardship as its playing a couple of strokes more difficult now from what i can tell.

I guess I should of been more clear when I asked for a guess on new course record. What will be the total score for BOTH the front 9 of Jackson and Warner and who will it be???? I am kinda bias but will give my guess Josh shoots a 29 on Jackson and a 25 on Warner for a total of 54....PLEASE GET THERE EARLY AS POSSIABLE TO GET SIGNED IN ....BATMAN

Well we had great weather and a good turn out . Collected lots of toys and raised $1500 for Ronald McDonald House of Augusta. Thanks for the support from Atlanta guys for coming out and playing you came and showed what friends and competitors you are and Tina Josh and I thank you. I was off on my score and we have a 3 way tie for new course record with Josh , K Mac and Brad shooting a 57 on the Warner Jackson layout. Charles Toney won Rec div,Jeff Thomas Inter,Ryan Adams Advance.Keith Johnson Pro Masters and Open div Josh Childs 2 strock win over Kmac and Brad. But the big winner was Ronald McDonald House. See you on the course and maybe at the IDGC final event to decide this years overall champs on Dec 12. peace BATMAN

By the way, i must call Aaron Dean out as a legitimate Pro! You slipped in the second round but, you have been showing you can hang with these guys! Keep it up! But, how did you blow an eight stroke lead with one round to go against your pal Jeff? That had to hurt!

Thank you Sir! Yeah, that second round was a bit unfortunate with some bad shots, bad luck and bad kicks and my ensuing loss of composure. Jeff had a great second round so sadly I was over taken. I haven’t beaten Bryk in a tournament in many years so that one did sting quite a bit.
