As was done for 2009, I am asking again that as much as possible it would be nice to see these dates chosen to NOT conflict with PDGA events, but to set up a calendar for 2010, I would like to have an idea of dates and / or months for events so that solutions or work arounds can be handled to try and keep everyone as happy as possible and keep date conflicts to a minimum please.

Again please post dates in this thread, pm me and I'll post them for everyone to see.

Feb 21: Frost in the Woods Ice Bowl, ERP (Jason Bradshaw)
July 10: Doubles event (name/format TBD), ERP (Andrew Lofstrand)

According to Toccoa's website they are having the Toccoa Ice Bowl on January 30th. Can this also be added to the ADGO front page with the other tourney's. I am sure there are some people that would choose the shorter trip to Toccoa on Jan 30th if they were aware. Thank you!

ANY Event can be added if somebody asks me to add it - It is extremely difficult to know what is going on at all the GA courses if nobody posts anything about it.

That is the reason I have these 2 threads (NON and Sanctioned Events) - so that TD's and Players can see what is already listed or to make their requests.

Gwinnett County Parks and Rec are hosting their "Team Challenge" disc golf tournament on 5/15 at Alexander Park. It's 4 person teams (2 dubs teams, combining scores at the end) and will be mostly corporate/family players. Trophy only. The GDGO has been asked to help run the event, but I'm not sure what sign-up requirements will be.

I'm not even sure we should put it on the events calendar as it's really not directed toward tourney players. The park will be closed that day, however.

That kind of sucks that there are 2 events in Gwinnett on the same day. It's kind of hard to go and support the women if all the guys are playing a team event just down the road. :?:

i agree. The Park has apparently had this on their calendar since last year, but we just found out about it. I'll see Bill Balanger tomorrow so if he doesn't see this, I'll ask him about it.. If he could push his back a week, he might get some participation from the corporate players, as we could present his event at that one.

We're going to explore having a mini-tournament in the afternoon after the last day of the camp (July 14) but it'll be campers only -- there's no way to have a full-day event at ERP and keep the entry fee low enough for a juniors event without a significant sponsorship commitment, which we don't have.

Scott if you want to push it back to Sept. or something I will help you out finding sponsors. I feel bad that I wouldn't combine it with mine but I really didn't want to give the impression of hey drop your kids off in the woods because there will be a bunch of women to watch them and you can go to the bar or something.

Will give it some thought. There were just lots of factors in play. I've got my plate full with taking Ari to Am Worlds and running the camp between now and mid-July, and didn't see how I could devote enough time and energy to it to be able to raise enough sponsorship funds to keep from taking a bath on it personally if I took on the responsibility, especially with such a short lead time -- that's definitely not one of my strong points.

And I completely agree with you about not trying to combine it with your women's event -- was just spitballing ideas but realized that was a bad one as soon as we discussed it.
