Everyone who signs up over the 72 full field # will then be moved to the woods NOT(how many rounds in the woods) and when will we know if we are in either the standard 18 or moved into the woods. Dont mean any harm just that the difference between the 2 are not well defined as how it will work. You still the man Keith, great series.

Miracle Grow to get the grass to exactly 23" high in the fairways and 42" high in the rough (Andrew - there is your exact height of the grass)
he said that at least their rough is all grassy and is no more than 20-24 inches high which still allows people to throw from it

Why do you hide the board in between rounds? Are you going to be doing this at Lake Russell too?
In my experience and from the players I have talked to (and it's alot of them), we wanna know where we stand after the first round or any round for that matter, as soon as the scores are tallied and organized. It gives us something to discuss during lunch. It also allows the player to make some decisions. For example: If I am tied for 2nd, with 1 stroke behind the leader, and there are a few of us that are neck and neck with a shot to win; than I would spend my time at lunch differently (quickly eat and go practice) than being in the middle of the pack (time to goof off and hang with the bros).
Some tournaments go as far as to scroll the scores across a digital display. Some print them out and post them in multiple places. Some even post it on the website asap. You hide yours like it's some big secret? Why? Please explain.

I don't mind giving you five minutes or ten if need. I just want to look at the board and take some time to see whats going on. Not only with me but with all my friends. Not look what hole I'm on and rush to it like I had to do three times last year at Russell, not fun at all. It may seem petty but that is one of the major reasons I only play in one of the GSSS. It just really bugs me.

What is so hard about this concept, I know its fun to B.S. the TD but make it intresting like the 2 meter rule. Keith, make the complainers walk the furthest, hole 14 sounds good.

Or what if the TD listened to everyone the first year and adjusted the way people register the second year? because then you could play the real course and you wouldn't be insulted by being asked to play the woods holes? but either way at tourney time you can't play because you said no to the wood holes after the insult, registration was full but not really, and the TD didn't listen the first year? also what if someone gets drunk and pukes all sat. morning and can't play? should I be there just in case? should I leave fri. night or sat. morning just to make sure I get a spot? is there really a spot that opens with no official waitlist? is there an unofficial waitlist if there is no official waitlist? so my question is...will anyone know what the hell is going on before the 45 minute long players meeting on sat. morning?
ANSWER: no! not even the TD. but thank the lord all the distances are posted otherwise the players would be lost!

Am I wrong?
Wookie wrote:Is the par set at 54 because it's saying that I was even but really on a 54 layout I was 3 over from the first round.
keith johnson wrote:Cha Ching wrote:Why does rec division not have a round rating for the 2nd round?
I don't know - it should as everything is listed correctly. I spoke with Dave Gentry and he couldn't find a reason for it to not be showing and he suggested I delete the results and repost them to the program to see if that will fix it, as it is also showing ratings for the final 9 which is not supposed to happen either.
I'll do that this evening as I don't have access here at work to the spreadsheet.
If it doesn't work for whatever reason, they will still be rated correctly when the process is done for the official ratings.
