Don't be so hard on yourself Paul, it's only posted in red in the first post about
10 lines down.

I know you only make it thru about 2-3 lines in my posts before your eyes glaze over, and I should have been more considerate to you and posted it in the first line.

I will keep your issues in mind when I set up the info for next years series.
(I don't know why I posted the last few lines as Paul has already stopped reading.) :D

Last reminder that there are only 6 tee signs left available for the Finale of the GSSS Event at Lake Russell.

Holes 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 are still available, and at least 2-3 of these holes will also be used for the final 9.

Show your support, tell me I stink, say pretty much anything you want for the low price of 35 bucks and get 2(TWO) discs of your choice also.

I won't be checking this board until Monday night, which will be less than 24 hours before the deadline of 5PM Tuesday.

Don't get left out! tm

Okies definitely have an advantage in windy play!

Kev,

What's the craziest thing you've seen a disc do in the wind?

I played in a tourney in Ashtabula, OH (2003 shoot the Breeze Open) the course sits on the banks of Lake Erie, with Gale Force winds....60+ mph winds and I saw Kevin Stewart from Columbus make a 10 footer and the disc blew out of the basket and it ended up in the parking lot about 500 feet away. He was in the basket on his 4th shot but ended up with a 10.

Might as well unpack the Firebird, and put the Monarch back as there will be NO STORM. As of the 11 AM advisory, it is just now starting to move North after heading East back towards Africa, and will most likely only impact North Carolina through the mid-Atlantic states even it follows the Western edge of the "cone of uncertainty", which means for Lake Russell almost no winds and clear sunny skies!

See everyone there!

Besides not being good at math, (52.94% in open at the moment, (paying 9 of 17 because of dropouts),and( 50% in Masters paying 5 out of 10) you have to tell the open players to stop being scared and to man up and play, instead of being scared it might be windy.

The Open players have ALWAYS made more per player in the division than Masters at all of my Events in 13 years, because that's where the better talent usually is able to play and it's open to ALL who want a shot at the cash.

All players, especially AMS have always had great paydays at any Event I've run, and I have no Apologies to make to ANY division, because I DON'T treat any division badly, nor make any division pay for any other division.

Save your Open Player bashing by Masters players talk for the PDGA message board mister.

How many throws will we have in the contest? Will there be a final for the top 3-5? Or is it 1 throw and whoever gets it, gets it?

I would like to know before 5 PM today if you wish to move to Pro as I will print the cards and set the board tonite, and would like to have things as close to "final" as possible. you can pay me the difference on Saturday morning if you do move.
Yes Randy, I will take signups for the Woods Event if there are enough people to still run it.
Right now the people dropping out of the MAIN Event makes it looks like there might be only a few people left in "thePlan".

I'll have to play it by ear.

Keith,

My math came from the PDGA website which lists 19 open players and 9 masters, so i'm not sure where your coming from there. Did we have more drop out?

What do you guys think? any questions? I'm just trying to add some more fun events to our disc golf camping weekend!!!

Long Drive Competition
Sunday Sept. 7th, Following the final 9
-Long drive will throw from near hole 1 down the hill
-Need volunteers to help with marking/grabbing discs
-$5 AM/PRO divisions, 100% cash payout, top 30% (signup after final 9)
-Drives will be marked where they "hit" the ground
-After tournament so no need to worry about ruining your arm!

How many throws will we have in the contest? Will there be a final for the top 3-5? Or is it 1 throw and whoever gets it, gets it?

It will be one round, 5 sequential throws per person!

Thanks!

Look up at the red #'s posted, you know you can't trust the PDGA website #'s  , as they entail the TD actually updating them, which I won't do until after the deadline tonight, so I only have to do it one more time tonight before entering scores on Sunday night.

It has filled more than any Event i've ever seen, about 15 times so far and counting with the turnover and dropouts.

On Saturday at this rate the field will have only about 40 of the original 72 from March when it filled for the first time.

Is there any info about the cabins? or am I way to late on that? If so are there any hotels in the area?

Should be some campsites still available. They have camper and tent sites. There's a bath house on site with showers and toilets. Not everyone's cup of tea, but still an option.

WOW...Pro Masters is a little more scary with Woody, Mel, Bradshaw bagger and RANDY. I was hoping to be in the final four to get some video of me struggling for the submission to Atlanta's biggest loser that I have to submit by the 10th of Sept.

Glad to see YAK N PAK out of jail. I always have a better time when you are around. Sorry you won't get to eat dinner with me on Friday. Should be pretty good if that line cook from Anis comes through.

All in all I am gratefull for all the friends and clients I have from disc golf and appreciate each and every one of you for different reasons.

Lets all try to have the best weekend ever and be kind to all.

Pleased don't let Moose get on a jet ski....no matter what I say. I doubt if any of you was 300LBS you could get back on a jet ski in open water. They had to send a damn boat out looking for me last year....and I got skilz.

Is it too late to redeem my players pack vouchers (i have two)?. I have tried a couple of times to redeem them at the website and end up leaving frustrated. It makes me me give my e-mail over and over and i can never check out. It doesn't send me anything to my e-mail address. I have reset my password, but it still wont let me check out. Players pack is nice, online is a pain in the arse.

You are doing something wrong, because a copuple of people placed orders today
You should only have to give your email once, if you have already set up a password when you signed up for the event.
Then just check-out and enter the codes on th shipping address page as it appears on your code and you're good to go.

Online is only a pain in the azz if REdan is your home course it seems.

I meant to add my two vouchers to a CTP you already have. The site keeps rejecting my e-mail address and it keeps circling me back to the same screen. I tried to reset my password and when it comes to check out it keeps booting me back to invalid e-mail or password. I know how to operate a computer. I could probably go back and change my username/password again, but i will chalk it up as lame. The reason i didn't want to bring it up is because instead of figuring out a solution you tell me i don't know how to operate a computer. LAME! :D

Scores will be up tonight after unpacking.

Two things that won't happen in the GSSS in '09

Cars on the course during final 9, and people bringing their animosity with others too far which caused to ruin what was a almost perfect weekend for most people - by having to deal with an awards ceremony with name calling and chest thumping, because playtime got out of control.

Please keep the stuff away from the course, so that I don't have to deal with people calling the cops at a disc golf tournament I'm running.
Fun and games are one thing, but when everyone gets dragged down due to it at the awards ceremony, it ceases to be fun and games, and the people involved will NOT be playing in any of my events, if it happens again.

Thanks,
Keith

Thanks Keith and family for a great series of tournaments. I wish I could've played in more of them. That series bonus was great. I can't wait for next year's series. I'm glad to hear that you are changing some of the venues, it will help to keep things new and fresh.

For those that missed out, Lake Russell is the bomb. From the camping to the payouts and everything in between. If you missed this one you really should be kicking yourselves. Thanks again Keith.

As for the Jim Corder debacle. The people involved did go a little overboard. It was all in jest though and Jim should be used to that by now. I agree that it escalated in to more than it should've been and it became a nuisance. Those involved shouldn't have been cowardly. After all was said and done they should've stepped up like men and explained that it was a joke. Maybe then Jim wouldn't have to ruin the awards ceremony with a completely juvenile and over the top speech. It's amazing that he doesn't promote cursing to his kids but he does promote grown men meeting at the playground to fight.

Thanks Keith and Family for your hard work organizing and implementing this series.

This was a great event, I had a blast camping and playing 3 Extremely HOT rounds (that is temperature). And even though the intermediate groups had the longest walk to begin and end for all rounds, at least I was able to sweat off about 5 pounds! I also had the fortune of learning that hard lesson of being stroked for turning in an incorrect score card.
I hear everyone learns that lesson sometime????????????

This was my first time playing an event at Lake Russell, and cant wait till next year! :D

Thanks Keith. I have a question about round ratings. Why does a rating fluctuate between rounds? I shot the same score all three rounds and I had three different round ratings. Not complaining, I just wasn't sure what goes into the reports. In my mind the rating should increase as the tournament goes on. A 54 in round one should be lower than a 54 in round three, don't you think?

It has to do how the field shot which can reflect a change in conditions from one round until the next (rain, wind, vans being driven around the course, etc).

No Jay,
Bob is close with his answer. It has to do with your score RELATIVE to everyone else playing that same course at the same time, and what those players ratings are, so if 54 is the best score it will be rated differently than if it is the 4th best score of everyone playing.
Someone shooting a hot round while everyone else plays consistently close can skew the ratings, like Drage in the first round. Without his 47, a 49 or 50 would have probably been 1000 rated.

There is a ENTIRE thread devoted to ratings and how they are done on the PDGA message board under the Ratings and Skill Based Competition thread.

A 54 in round one should be lower than a 54 in round three, don't you think?

I called Jim out on this site like i have several other players in the past for Bagging. I try to make fun with it and mean it as a compliment to the player, a lot of us would like to have enough game to be called a Bagger. I think the thing that went on this weekend went a little too far. But, players have been communicating this to Jim for over a year now and he just makes up the same lame excuses extreme Baggers give. It's BS, and when you have a 15 stroke victory against real Advanced Masters it should slap you in the face that you are too good for that division and it is not "preparing" you for AM Worlds. The PDGA doesn't control Bagging for the most part, so it is up to the players to lay a little heat on those players playing below their skill level. So, besides the vulgar words written on the ball(Written by an unknown person) i think he deserves every bit of it. I think warning those people that started this thing is your business, but i think they were expressing the thoughts of a lot of players in Georgia. When Jim called us out for moving up because he was in that division, with the aggresive attitude he displayed and making violent threats(saying "meet me outside the park..." can get you arrested) was way worse then being called names on some balls and he should be warned as well. Sometimes you have to be a man and realize that other people see things in a better light then you sometimes and they might be right and you might be wrong. I think those players will start treating Mr. Corder like a man when he starts playing like one.

First of all - you know good and damn well he does not go on this site. Also, talk about being a man - you need to step up and admit to the guy you did it. The tags were funny - the golf balls were way too far - those that did it deserve all the crap they are getting. You guys ruined the whole weekend for the guy (and maybe for the TD as well) and that is not all in fun. According to the PDGA, he is qualified to play in advanced masters - send them your golf balls not the person playing by the rules. All of you involved in this are weak-a$$ed pansies - if I was Keith - I'd ban you all for next year's LRO.... because the only people who were wrong - were you guys....

I'm not sure who "you guys" or the perps are, but the latter part of the prank
was over the top and the stickers placed about the first day should have sufficed.
I do side with Jim in that respect. I don't think the speech was at the right place
and to the right people, though. That should have been reserved for the four
people that he knew were involved and not the other 68 that weren't.

Listen up, Pal! I had NOTHING to do with that. Get your facts straight before you start throwing out "you"! As far as i know, YOU wrote the obscenities on that ball. I said it went too far, but he is a Bagger and deserves to be told so. Just like YOU next year. If you don't like it, move up or get your butt into Bowling or something. Because i will be on your butt too!!

I sincerely apologize if I wrongly implicated you - I misunderstood your post. I perceived that you did have a part in it from your post. It was wrong of me to presume as such.

BTW, i had a great time at the tourney. That incident didn't ruin my weekend. It was a blast playing with friends that i normally don't play with, Grease, Woody, Bradshaw, Moose, Mel, AND Keeth! Those "real" Masters sure can throw long and smooth! It was fun to watch. :D

Retard Randy keeps throwing the term bagger around, but I pose this question. Who cashed in Pro Master and accepted prize in lieu of cash? Sounds like somebody needs a taste of there own medicine.

I guess the one good thing that did come out of the whole "advanced masters moving up"
deal was to get to play with friends that I normally don't. It was a pleasure playing with Randy
, Vern, Jay Voss, and Bradshaw. Bradshaw has joined us now, maybe the rest of you will.

Haha! Not with my drive rapidly approaching 200 feet. I thought real hard about taking the cash and asked a few dudes their opinions on it and didn't decide until the moment i walked up. I pay attention to where i stand in Pro Masters every tourney. I don't ever remember playing well enough to have cashed in any of them. That's ten years at ten tourneys a year. Mostly, i might beat one or two of the Pros. Let's face it, i only really beat two Pro Master's anyway this weekend(CHOP has been playing more Advanced Masters lately). That's no knock on my compadres that i beat that moved up with me. But, if the local community got on my case for Bagging, and i was Retard Randy enough to whoop everybodies arse in Advanced Masters everytime i played, i would have sense enough to move up. I want nothing more then to play Pro and win cash, or at least compete. Hopefully this is a step toward that goal. So, step off it Mr. HEAD, i will tell YOU who the Baggers are in this town! I'll have my eyes on you, big boy, next year! :x

I just can't take it any more! And it's all your fault, 'Funky Bobby'. You had to go and stir things up....
Funky Bobby J wrote:D A M N Jefferson, GA 'tard....don't know nothin'
....and bring down the wrath of "Retard Randy". Some times you guys just don't think beyond your own freakin' nose! I'm so incensed with how ALL of you stoop to such low levels. For the life of me, I can't understand how persons of your intelligence could write such things. Do you have any idea how this comes across to the younger readers of this forum? Do you even comprehend what a responsibility you have to them? Not to mention your fellow ADGO members? This sort of thing goes on here constantly and reflects badly on ALL of us as individuals as well as a group. The level at which we express ourselves, especially in front of everyone here on the World Wide Web, impacts our reputation with not only other DG sites, but our local communities that we are just beginning to really connect with as well.

When you write things like this, it makes us all look bad and we're not all so willing to sit idley by as this sort of thing continues to happen on this forum. I'm tired of it and I know there are others out there that just shake their heads in shame as well. We have let it slide for too long and every time it happens, a little part of our respect, a little bit of our hope and a little piece of our pride is lost.

These are just examples of the kind of garbage I'm referring to:

I can't believe you guys actually have the nerve to write such dribble, so I have to speak my mind.

It's no wonder Randy replied with such fervor! I applaud his effort and respect his opinion, but when I see someone forget to capitalize 'advanced masters', I have to put my foot down! And that's not all! I mean, come on 'Grease', If you're gonna' spell out one number in a sentence, then you MUST spell out all of the numbers that follow. Any (home-schooled and tutored)4th grader knows this! And let's not forget Jay. Like, man, why can't you just say 'PRIZES' or 'A prize'? Jeesh, I don't know where you guys get this stuff!

Like I said before; This sort of thing has to stop, and stop now!

I don't want anybody to sugar coat anything for "the younger readers of this forum". And i have enough responsibility in my life to "even comprehend what a responsibility" I "have to them"! And grammer and spelling are still a constant battle even at 45! (Or forty five, either are acceptable) Just keep it real, Bra!

I'm in agreement with Woody! Violent behavior on the course and blatant disregard for others feelings are minicule problems compared to the grammatical slaughter that occurs on this site every day!! (extra ! for emphasis) I'm thinking of petitioning the webmaster to become the grammar policeman for this board and correcting the erroneous posts. More than three grammatical\syntax errors on a post and it will be removed until you correct it.

By the way Randy, I have only played one (1) tournament as an Advanced Master. The only reason I played in that division was because there were only two (2) players signed up, myself and Mel. So, you beat another Pro-Master, Bagger Randy!
Is this post really necessary?
