Heflin Ace for America 07/05/08 USWDGC Fundraiser

Postby Marla » Mon Jun 23, 2008 10:25 pm

Help us break in Alabama's newest disc golf course and support the United States Women's Disc Golf Championship at the same time! We'll be hosting a one day 2 round tournament at Heflin's Lakeside Disc Golf Course on July 5th. It's only an hour west of Atlanta just off I-20.

PDGA C Tier

PDGA member prices

All Pro Divisions: $40
All ADV Divisions: $25
All Int Divisions: $20
All Rec/Nov Divisions: $15

A $10 fee for nonPDGA members will be added. If however you are from Cleburn, Talledega, Calhoun, or Randolf counties, we'll pick up the tab.

$2 will be taken out of all divisions for course rental fees. Josh and I will cover the PDGA fees for existing members. Everything other than that will be cash in/cash out.

Sign ups will begin at 9 AM Central time (10 AM Eastern) with a players meeting at 9:30 Central time (or so). If you show up before 9, we may not be set up then. We'll be driving down from Huntsville that morning. I know that's a little strange, but we used to live in Oxford, Alabama and were asked to try to get something started on the course so here it is!

Marla Lenox

PS Ladies this course is for you! It's very short arm friendly.

There are quite a few holes with major elevation changes. I think at least one of the holes is pretty close to 1 foot in elevation for every 2 feet in length. It may be more than that actually.

Just so we're all real clear here: the reason that the tournament is called Ace for America is that there's going to be a lot of aces.

Hope to see all of you Saturday. For those of you who haven't been to a Hartselle event (where we usually run tournaments), we will be bringing fudge for CTP's, a mini ring of fire, and the Hartselle turkey, Roberto.

Tons of fun. Lots of aces. A short drive from Atlanta. AND proceeds go to support the United States Womens Disc Golf Championship!

Jay,

From my house, which is over towards that side of town it took about an hour.

So from the I-75 / I-20 interchange in Atlanta it would take you about 1hr 45 min or so.

Shoot me a PM about the course if you want some info, I played it on opening day and can give you some insight on the layout.

Later,
