Redan..... Construction damage on lots of holes

I just heard from $ that the construction crews are tearing up Redan on a few holes.... Im heading out today to take some pics and I'll post them when I get home tonight.... from what he said, it doesn't sound good at all. He said there was damage from 1 - 13.... sounds like a sewer line going in. At least one tee is gone. I'll update later on tonight.

Its not as bad as I had thought. Expect a bunch of trees to be missing. They making a sewer line starting at hole 1, going down past the tennis courts to 2's basket, then through 9's fairway & 16's basket area probably making a bridge from 16 to 15's fairway and connecting the sewrs together. The path they are making is about 40 ft wide or larger.

Sounds like it followed the stakes we saw when they were first put out.
I suspect #16 was significantly altered with the removal of trees. I guess we'll all find out. Thanks for the update.

It is early in the process, but I'm sure it'll get worse. One good thing about is it will be easier to drive down to the course now.
The sidewalk at hole 1 is all crushed up from the dozers, and 2's original long pin position is now fresh earth (luckily the basket was moved to the new "righty" position.

Just imagine a 50ft wide path made by bulldozers from 1's tee pad down the sidewalk to the tennis courts to 2's original basket (18 long is fresh earth) to 9's fairway then to 16's basket area (tree's soon to be removed) across the creek to 15's fairway. and so it will be!

I had noticed the stakes out there the last few times I played, one being this past Saturday. It looks like they were taking the most direct path, but right there where 2,3, and 9 all meet it didn't look good. Since the ground is so elevated right there, they will have to dig pretty deep and wide to make it across and that seems to be what is going to be the worst. That section of the course is going to be seriously changed when they get done, not nearly as much shade in there anymore.

i played Redan on Friday and by the end of the day the crew had cleared a path all the way to the creek between 16s basket and 17s teepad. the only hole that wasn't playable, or had to be played short, was 10 just because the workers were there. they took several trees down between 10 and 16 but overall i would say they planned the best route possible and did not change course play much at all.

The course is changing for the better!!

We now have different options to Safari golf The construction was diverted between hole 16's basket and 17's tee area. 16 now has a open green behind the basket area making it easier to throw farther behind the basket (shule removal).
They still have to put in the sewer line and it will affect hole 2's original basket location. I'm sure they'll put everything back to normal as best they can.
Best thing is the new routes for safari golf

The course is still open and it is no problem playing all 18 holes. Pulled a cart at Sunday doubles and played two rounds with no trouble.The sewer lines are not installed yet so we have to be patient, but I feel the contractor did a great job on reducing the impact on the course. On some holes, it's an improvement.
